It was good to see them not give up and have somewhat of a comeback and avoid total embarrassment. However, this may be a very disappointing year for them.
Based on what is going on, this offense doesn’t seem to be working right now. It was concerning when we had Reagan out there with Emily. They are both good at moving the ball, but don’t shoot it. The team also telegraphs way too many passes. I was watching Emily inbound at one point, players moving and cutting and she only wanted to pass to Addy.

Actually, we are young - and it does make a difference. We started 1 senior, 1 junior and 3 sophomores. They started 2 fifth year players, a senior, a junior and a sophomore. Not the whole story of this team by any means, but can't deny that experience at this level counts.
Genuine question, are you saying that is a bad thing? It seems like a bad thing.
At one point, we had 4 sophomores and 1 freshman on the floor.
All I can say is...this is disturbing to observe. Is a sophomore slump a real thing? Possibly. But the ladies aren't really slumping so much as being inconsistent (which I focused my summary on). There's always been more than one player you knew you could count on to score. Not now. It comes and goes. And the defense...woof. Lord I wish we had 2 or 3 more Kelsey Joen's just for the hustle factor alone.
I think a lot of the complaints are that it doesn’t seem like the sophomores have gotten any better. I would say that Audi and Addy are about where I thought they would be, but everyone else has been not able to step up
Bottom line is the supporting cast around Audi and Addy just isn't good enough.
Recruiting quickness and some size is a must. Every team seems to have 2-3 6' to 6'2 players that are athletic. We have Addy and no one else. Audi is great down low but is a huge liability on defense with lack of mobility. Easier said than done but our lack of speed/quickness is very apparent and think we need new perspective. Way too long with same people coaching.
I would be surprised if its a locker room problem. Seems to me a flawed roster.
And it's tough to be above average when your defense is below average and offense is average on a good night. Just not talented enough in spots 3-8. Part of talent is consistency.
The key will be if these young players stick around to be juniors and seniors. History has shown that many of them will not.
It came up quite frequently as an excuse for the Iowa loss. I expected it to come up again and it did.Funny. You were the one that brought it up
good question, but something has to be done with our PG play. we need to recruit someone who can get to the basketball while taking contact or create their own shot or at least is quick.
I can't tell you how many times I saw our PG dribble the ball 75 times from start of possession to shot attempt we are built to move the ball and we are opposite of that right now.
i do like the effort to come back by the team versus getting blown out.
goals need to be modified to just make the tournament at this point. we play any team that has quick guards we are a mess.
