The real question is: What does this person think will happen?

I have Brr ride next Saturday in Perry. I would like to know which tires I need to put on my bike. Or if I'm just going to be drinking all day........

You need bike chains on your snow tires and one of those mini-snow plows the Russians have for their bikes.

So...... Am I gonna die in a blizzard or what? I'd like to plan accordingly.
My predictions tell me that you won't die in a blizzard, but will in a freak accident involving a midget, three sombreros (cinco de mayo?), a mule, and sushi. However, it's still two days away, so I"m not sure, give me a few hours to rule some things out like octopus ink and squirrel farts.

There is a chance for light snow Monday, but really the main system/heavy snow, if it were to come together, would be Tuesday, especially noon and later Tue.

Still looks like it should mostly stay to the south as long as the arctic push doesn't get held up on Monday. The colder the better if you want to avoid this snow. I said at noon if the temps for Tuesday's forecast start to creep up from 10-12 degrees and get closer to 20 the next couple days, that would be a bad sign.

I was thinking that was just what my weatherman said, and then I reread your post- you ARE my weatherman!

I'm gonna keep my mouth shut about the temperature down here right now. Suffice it to say that the sum of the two digits is 12.

What are the models looking like now?

Early Monday morning thru Tuesday morning- light snow of long duration breaks out, best accumulations are north of US 20.

Early Tuesday thru Wed- main storm starts deepening in Texas and starts swinging NE, exact placement still in question. If the more southern solution verifies then heavy snows are located along and south of a Lamoni- Ottumwa- Davenport line. Light snows elsewhere and the final result is something like the Jan 10-11 storm(minus the very high amounts along the Missouri River and with amounts higher in the east). If the more northern solution gets rolling much of the state gets a big snowstorm with areas along the I-80 corridor getting close to or over a foot of snow.

I like Canadian models. I don't know any Ukmet models but I've never ukmet a model I didn't like.
