I'm glad you bring this up. I miss the local food of Sioux City. I'll argue to the death that Sioux City has the best pizza anywhere. Jerry's Pizza and El Fredo's has yet to be matched. Townhouse has the best buffalo wings anywhere (although The Peanut in Kansas City is a close second).

Sioux City is my hometown and I love the place. I don't live there but I'll stand up for it when people bag on it.

El Fredo's has decent pizza for certain but I have had many pizza pies that I found to be better in many places...Great Plains in Ames for one.

Same here SC Cy except I still live here. Most people believe any crap somebody posts about a city even though they have never been there or haven't for a long time. With the riverfront, bike trail, Tyson Events Center, Art Center, Historic 4th St, Lakeport Commons along with all the new housing subdivisions it has improved so much in the last 20 years. Special events like Saturday in the Park, Art Splash (favorite tour spot among the artists) Awesome Harley Nights provide plenty of great entertainment. Not too mention 2 great hospitals, burn unit and cancer center that are top notch.

Agree with everything here. Since I left the S.C. area in 1991, it has VASTLY improved. Too bad the only thing there was to do there when I was in HS was Carnival Bowling at KD Stockyards.

Eeewwww. Which place would you least rather visit? Storm lake or Sioux City.

As an ambassador of the Siouxer I would like to invite you up to SC so that I may give you your Sioux City High Five.

Which no longer exists. I remember the lanes were bumpy and you never knew which way the ball would go.

You know that ignorant crap gets old too. I work close to the old stockyards area close not far from Morrell and I never, I mean never smell anything.

Didn't mean to offend. I lived there for 20 years, and driving down I-29 by Morrell did produce some stinkiness. Maybe it's changed, but it's not ignorant, it's fact. That doesn't make it a bad place, and if you see my posts prior to this, you'll see that I said as much.

Bob Roes has some pretty tasty food and I bet it is one of Wes Staten's favorites. That's in Sioux City for those of you who don't know. My kids go to MSide and the only smell is the water treatment plant on the south side of town. It can get pretty bad but only when it rans alot. Oh yeah, anybody heard of Wes Staten. I think he committed to us and lives in the Sioux City area. I heard he had a pretty good game the other night. There might even be a thread about it on this site. Hope I can find it.

Wes is going to be ranked as high as HB is. He will be top 10. He is a huge get.

While he may end up actually 5 star guy, stating as a fact that he will end up top 10 is a little ridiculous. There's still a long time before he winds up on campus. There's just no way to know, when a kid is 14 years old, that he will end up being a top 10 recruit.

I realize that unbridled optimism is the norm around here, but this is just another instance of it going a little overboard.

...as well as unbridled pessimism...kudos to the people that can be rational and realistic.

Why post about a future Cyclone when you can insult Sioux City, or maybe another city in Iowa? What's new in Counciltucky? Anyone?
