This game scares the absolute crap out of me. The major weakness of Heacock’s defense has proven to be mobile QBs, and that’s exactly what WV has. I don’t think WV is a better team, but a night game in Morgantown may be what tips the scales in their favor.

That said, if Iowa State puts a complete game together a win feels very likely
They're also hard to tackle. The QB and RB are strong runners who don't go down on first contact. We're already so injured on that side of the ball. We're going to need a very effective spy on Greene. He will throw picks, though I expect him to do a lot of tucking and running.

WVU defense is average and we have questionable health. Is the play the over this game? Where's the line? 51.5?

Opened at 51.5, with ISU favored by 3.5. Wonder how many points Vegas gives for the stadium

If this kind of thing happened, new changes in like two seconds (totally not serious but would you put it past them?):

-NIL only for certain teams in certain conferences, but not the whole conference.

-no transferring and those same schools only are allowed to have 4/5 star players.

-No playoffs for any schools with an 'I' to start any words within the school name.

-any rules can change at any time, any week or day to make sure the right teams play.

I loved Heacock’s adjustments against Baylor. Using the cover 0 liberally to help out the LB’s may be important next week as well.
brought my BP waaaay up each time that was the formation.

It will be a tough game but I have no doubt Rocco will be dialed in

I think overall the Baylor game was Rocco's best. He was amazing! Consistency has been a glaring issue with Becht. But I can seriously see him being next level good much like Purdy.

I think he's also going to want to show West Virginia they messed up by not offering him.

Low-key storyline: there’s gonna be some wild tie-breaker stuff occur to determine who plays in the CCG. Assuming WV finishes in the top half of the conference, wins against those teams and not just the bottom feeders is really important.

Yeah I read somewhere where these tie-breaker rules are new this current season. If I recall the rules were quite complex and kinda weird...

I’m going to Morgantown solo. Anyone else going? I’m flying to Roanoke, renting a motorcycle and going to ride up and around the region a couple days. Any thoughts on meetup, key experiences or where I should get a ticket?
There is a joint tailgate of Cyclone Clubs of Cincinnati and Pittsburgh but I don’t know anything about them (I’m just doing/going where I’m told that day). But I do know we have a parking pass for the blue lot after the tailgate. Try https://www.isualum.org/s/565/20/interior-subnav.aspx?sid=565&gid=1&pgid=6597

One of the biggest games in program history right here. Where this falls on the schedule is huge.

1. Chance to go 6-0.

2. You win this you only have one true road game left @utah (KU is in arrowhead with a pro ISU crowd).

3. You gain more national attention winning this one on the road and show this is not the same ISU, we win that big game finally that takes us to new heights. The momentum of winning this carries us to 10-0 IMO.

That said my take is we are a much better team than West Virginia, we are resilient, we have great depth and are a more well-rounded team. Playing in Morgantown is really really tough coming off an emotional win versus Baylor. We are pretty banged up on D. They have a stupid sneaky, mobile quarterback.

We should win this game, but my gut tells me we’re gonna fall short, I hope I am proven wrong and we finally get over that hump, I so desperately want us to. I feel similar to this game as I did going to BYU last year. Hope I eat so much crow and we demolish them. You wanna play in a big 12 championship and let everyone know you’ve arrived? You win this mother effing game .

Go cyclones prove me wrong!
