What's an embarrassing moment in Iowa State history, sports or otherwise, that we try to suppress?

And I'm thinking more in terms of "that's a really bad look for the university" bad, not necessarily bad losses (UAB)

Examples from other places: Pierre Pierce at Iowa, Baylor and Penn States scandals, USC rowing.

What most comes to mind for me is the Veishea riots. Any others?
Did a Hok fan start this thread? Many more examples of Hok disasters.

Not a skeleton. But the worst thing to happen to ISU over the last 40 years was dropping Veishea. It was a fun and special tradition to Iowa State.

Maybe it's time had passed, but as a student in early/mid 80's it was a blast to build a float, cancel classes and party all day for 3-4 straight days in early May.

Kenny Pratt arrests.

It was too bad that he had those going on but it was pretty funny that he was doing some sort of scrimmage tour in places like Vinton while they were looking for him.

Not something to be ashamed of, but tragic:
The odd string of former player deaths from early 00’s guys.
Jason Berryman
Hiawatha Rutland
Ennis Haywood
Cris Love
Stevie Hicks

Hicks, Haywood, and Rutland make up our top rushers from 2006-2008. Chilling.

Only Hicks played during that time.

It was a useless excuse to be a drunk and do stupid **** that eventually caused way too much trouble.

It was fun and fine and a good way to bring families to campus until people become too stupid to use any common sense and personal responsibility. Catching a buzz, getting drunk, is one thing destroying stuff is just stupid.

I can agree that it was never intended to be what it became and probably was good initially.
