Hi RoyceFIFY
Who said anything about his politics? Perhaps the fact that Royce owes a quarter of a million dollars in child support that he refuses to pay is the reason why he's an embarrassment.FIFY

Someone could look at you wrong and you'd call them a homophobe. You're not exactly the definition of sanity when it comes to this board"stances" like, per his own twitter bio at one point, being "Sexist, Misogynist, Homophobic, Transphobic, Xenophobic, Antisemitic"
There are more than these, strangely/sadly enough. Not something to be ashamed of, but tragic:
The odd string of former player deaths from early 00’s guys.
Jason Berryman
Hiawatha Rutland
Ennis Haywood
Cris Love
Stevie Hicks
Hicks, Haywood, and Rutland make up our top rushers from 2006-2008. Chilling.

Or just scroll through his last 40 tweets. Where it's literally just him being a bigot.I'm not calling him these things. He literally had these things in his bio. He called himself these things
Also, I'll take that as a compliment from a nutjob like you
You know Brian is a Republican right? So there's not difference in politics there. Brian is probably talking about how Royce completely debased himself to get in on the grift while still not paying the bills he owes."Running for congress" is literally what the post said. That's politics. Reading sure is hard.
And yes that's utterly embarrassing that he owes that
Chris Babb and Matt Abdelmessih had to babysit Royce his two years here. That's 100% a fact. His interviews from years ago with long winded answers that felt like he was just blaming everyone else instead of really taking on his issues iirc weren't nationally huge but I didn't come out of it a bigger fan.
Again not on a national level of scrutiny but it's pretty embarrassing if there's truth to some players needing to be babysat during their time at ISU in the Fred years.
I took a day to respond to this. Obviously you should of stopped after the first 4 words of your reply.I will never understand this dumb take. I will outright acknowledge McCarney didn’t win nearly as much as he should have, mostly because anytime he got a lead he would get conservative to protect it instead of crushing the opponent’s throat, and by the end of 2006 it was past time to move on from him. But calling him embarrassing is one of the worst takes there is. This current era of Cyclone football we’re enjoying doesn’t exist without McCarney laying the foundation for it.

When a university announces the hire of a new football coach then the media blows up about domestic abuse allegations the NEXT day. It's the definition of egg on your face. Then the AD proves the university had absolutely no idea about those allegations by deciding to retain him but reduce Mac's salary after the fact.
There is nothing in this thread that any reasonable person would consider more embarrassing to the university than this incompetence. If you read the Post article you'd see Smith admitted to not being aware of the allegations and stated he was embarrassed.

The embarrassment was Mac had a no contact order, Gene Smith announced the hire, story came out, AD admitted he had no idea of the situation. Plain and simple this was gross incompetence.Wasn't the story with Mac that he threw his keys at his wife? Was it ever alleged that he actually struck her?
I don't disagree that it was an embarrassment and he probably doesn't keep his job today. But it also seems like that might have been the rare instance where standing by him was the right thing to do. Charges were dropped, after all, and to my knowledge hasn't had so much as a hint of that kind of behavior since. (I don't recall if there were rumors of that before his hire, but I'd guess not.)
Of course, you can't predict in 1995 what the future will look like, either.

Definitely. No argument there.
Watching people come up with examples of "skeletons in the closet" has been a little bit like watching Alanis Morissette come up with examples of irony. Most of these things were well-publicized.

That's the comment I would expect on this forum.Royce is really making a run for it here as of late.
