Getting gas takes literally two minutes. Talking about how it takes so long is just as dumb as complaining about taking long trips in an ev when people take like 1 per year.
No one is lecturing about anything, why do you have to make **** up? The only thing you have stated is all the positives and non of the negatives. Hell maybe everyone should rush out now and buy an EV. Of course we do not have the infrastructure for it and Trump has cut most of the Biden bill to build it, but let's do it anyway.
I am of the opinion if they are below the knee they are no longer shorts - they are capris. So those "cool" guys are wearing denim capris. So cool...Just got back from SoCal. Lovely weather and had a great time. However, I saw many late teens/early 20s men wearing long, past the knee jean shorts. I’ll take your EV’s but please keep those in LA please.
In a gas car?We are leaving Friday for our drive from Ames to Miami, according to google maps its 23.5 hours. Hope to get down past Atlanta and then find a hotel to crash, and finish it up on Saturday.
Wife keeps telling me we cannot drive that far with our grand daughters in the back, and I keep telling her the further we drive on Friday, means the less we have to drive on Saturday. We have three of us to drive, myself, wife and daughter. This is going to be an advantage.
Probably a used Tesla Model 3What's the best economical PHEV? Our company needs a commuter vehicle to carry 1-4 adults comfortably. Usually it's under 30 minutes a day of driving, but once a month it'll go 150+ miles.
Nothing fancy but power seats, power windows, and Android Auto/Apple Car Play.

Go back and read, that I have stated they have a very good use, but you make that out to be I oppose them. Daily driver, perfect vehicle, fleet of vehicles like Amazon or the mail department, great choice.
I love my Honda Clarity. Enough room for my family of 4, large trunk. 40 miles electric range. They stopped making them. Only 2018-2021 modelsWhat's the best economical PHEV? I’d wager the time saved charging at home instead of a gas station makes up for whatever extra time is taken on road trips during the year.Yes. I’m allowed to disagree with your take that nobody will want to buy one unless it can charge in under five minutes.
I have to disagree with that because practically everybody around me has one or wants one. We don’t have to agree and it doesn’t have to be right for you. I’ve owned both, it’s clear you’re speaking without much first hand experience though.

It’s easy to time. Done it a lot. All you have to do is see how many minutes your ETA moves back from when you hit the exit to when you’re back on the interstate. Most of mine were in that 7-10 minutes lost. That was me starting fuel while kids hit the RR, then I go when the first comes out to take the hose out. Most gas pumps are around 9-10 gallons a minute. About 3 minutes to pump the gas with a tag team of 25-26 gallon stopping every 420-460 miles. The 7-10 includes the slowing down and getting up to speed. Most don’t factor that minute or two into the stops.I almost wish I still had a gas car because I'd want to time myself at gas stations to see how radically wrong this guy's promise of 5 minutes is, especially since he's talking about grandparents and grandchildren.
I think 15 minutes without any fast food is probably more typical. 30 minutes if somebody grabs mcDonalds or Subway, 40 minutes if the fast food isn't on the same site as the gas station. Like others have said, I go to the bathroom, grab a drink, take my dog to go to the bathroom...then about half the time when I'm done with that my charging is already done, other times I check my email for 10 minutes then it's done. The only kink in it at all is if there's a wait for a charger and I'm getting a lot better at avoiding that.
Jesus, I never said you cannot disagree, nor did I state that no one will buy one if you cannot charge it up in 5 minutes or less. You keep digging this hole, like people are out to get you because you drive an EV. Not true at all. Enjoy driving your EV and I will continue to enjoy driving my hybrid.Yes. I have just pointed out drawbacks to EV, nothing more.
Its not the stopping that is the problem, its the amount of time it takes to refuel the EV, for a regular gas vehicle we are talking less than 5 minutes, until we can fully charge an EV in 10 to 15 minutes, its never going to be a huge seller and always be the work or second vehicle for many.
I think I read recently where Rivian just bought a controlling stake in it. It's usually my go-to though for figuring out a route.A better route planner might be my new favorite, I had not used that before, thanks.
Man I wasn't in the market but I'd be crazy to not save $500!FYI if anyone is serious about a Rivian I have a referral code for an extra $500 off!
