I am really worried about West Virginia. How many more losses before we fall out of the top 25 and become an 8 or 9 seed? Also keep Niang away from the media this week.

No, it wouldn't. It would have been the higher ranked team doing what it was supposed to do. Teams with aspirations of winning a conference title win on the road.
Oklahoma was favored, so... yes, like I said, ISU winning would have been an upset. Kansas went 5-4 on the road in the Big 12 last year and won the title. That's right, the BEST TEAM IN THE CONFERENCE WAS HARDLY BETTER THAN .500. You don't have to beat everybody on the road. Calm down. A win would have been great (and the TTU loss is still inexcusable) but being upset about this loss because of Big 12 title implications makes little sense. This loss is absolutely not the reason we won't win the title.

Teams like K-State?
I said only 5-8 could expect to win. I even italicized expect in my original post. Just like TTU beating us or TCU beating KU, upsets can happen. But realistically, you don't expect to beat KU if you're TCU. Realistically, you don't expect to beat a top ten KenPom team like OU on the road unless you're Kentucky, Virginia, etc.
All I said was that winning this game would have been an upset. It wasn't impossible to win this game, but it still would have been an upset.

Anybody? This is a good team, but can't win on the road or a neutral court. I'm very nervous for the Big 12 tourney and the NCAA Tourney.

The positive is anytime our fans outnumber the opposing teams fans we are undefeated. A deep run this year is up to the fans. Want to add a jimlad but don't really know if im kidding

Most of our squads struggle at ou. We're not going to lose a game at home. Road wins I think will be TCU and k-state to be honest.... Fred will have us ready for March, like he always does.

Still though, **** ou and their 75% full arena.

We were dogs because Vegas knows we can't win on the road. No one outside of KU can consistently win on the road.

That's why KU wins the league very year like a broken record.

That's why KU is the only team in the conference do anything in the tourney (like a broken record).

Pretty sure most teams would be dogs going against a ranked team at their home court.

And wut? like last year when they lost in the round of 32?

Not worried. But man we need to find some stops when needed. At OSU and at UT in the next 2 weeks will tell us a lot of where this team will be. Omaha is the goal, but we need to win at least 2 of the next 3

You're crazy, OU is probably the hottest team in the league right now and recently crushed WV at home by 20 pts. We were dogs for a reason. Still think this team can finish 13-5 in league, last 3 road games are very winnable if we can hold it together. Don't think the chemistry is as good with this team as the last few have been.

You forgot to add the lack of scoring ability, and getting points from your point guard. Monte offers almost nothing in the half court game for offense scoring. When we were really good we had Kane and Tinsley. 2 PG's that could score.

Wow. Some of you have hit an all time low. Now you are calling out a guy who is averaging over 5 assists a game, about 11 points a game, leads the country in a/to ratio by a good margin and leads the team in steals. BTW - assists are a part of half court offense.

Put down the bottle and go to bed.

We didn't upgrade in talent over last season. That should be obvious by now.

It was suppose to be an upgrade.

Niang, Morris, Hogue and Long with a season under their belts.

Add in experienced BDJ, McKay.

I can't believe how many posters still see us winning multiple road games down the stretch. Have you watched or road games? Same thing over and over.

I'm not. Same trend happened last year and everyone enjoyed the finish.

Bryce is the offense killer.......something about the way he turns it over just takes the air out of the team and gives the other teams 5, 6, 7, point runs on us after one of his crappy shots or turnovers. ug.

This team has just tonight played themselves into a second round NCAA tourney date with Duke on the "neutral" court of Charlotte, N.C......and I don't really feel sorry for them after seeing this **** poor free throw shooting and ***** defense.

So we went from #3 seed to a #7 seed by losing to the #17 team on their home floor. I get it, this team has its fair share of issues. But it appears to me that a number of guys "fall off the wagon" when it comes to putting things on their shoulders. The 3 pt shooting in the first half was fool's gold. You can't turn the ball over 14 times against OU (forcing only 7) and allow 14 offensive rebounds. We lost this game with our inability to guard not because of "heroball." 83 points should be enough to win wherever you are playing. Niang just can't guard Thomas or Spangler and if Booker or Woodard is hitting 3 pointers then you have no ability to double the post. However, as bad as the post defense was.....it wasn't exactly like we were able to stop dribble penetration. Oklahoma is a really good squad. They could easily finish 13-5 in the conference. But I look at every game left on the Iowa State schedule and I think they will have a legitimate chance to win all of them. By the same token this team could also finish 10-8 as well. I think the more likely scenario is 12-6 which would be the highest finish in the conference under Hoiberg. People tend to forget that for how great that team was last year....they finished 11-7 in the conference and needed a miracle 3 point shot to keep from finishing 10-8. Everybody just forgets that because we went 5-1 in post-season play.

KU has had their quick exits but they're the only program to make any notable deep runs in the last 15 years. Zero other Final Four teams from the B12.

The conference usually gets humbled in the dance and it's because no one can figure out a way to play D or win on the road.

That why this drag is on my ignore list. He says stupid shot and challenged me to a fight last year. He is a loser

Somewhere in the U.S.
This team has shown mental toughness only a couple of times this year on the road, or at neutral sites. Once at West Virginia, and in Iowa City.

Tonight, Monte and Georges basically didn't show up. They were handled by OU.......I'm pretty sure other teams will take note of how it was done.

I just don't think BDJ is much of a team player at all. He is out to fill the stat sheet for himself (including assists) but that's about it. Just about the best game this team played all year was when he wasn't even along for the trip. Plus, he has already been suspended once this year, and then in the middle of the conference season he can't get to a home game on time? Please. I just don't think he has bought into the concept of team basketball. He didn't at USC or UNLV, and he hasn't here.

This team lacks the leadership guys it had last year, and in previous years. They seem to fall in love, and believe their press clippings. They seem to think that if they just show up, the shots will fall and the other team will just be over-whelmed by their offensive skills. You would think after 5 losses.......4 of the being games they should not have lost they would learn their records....but they don't. I just think this team lacks mental toughness. Hogue has it.....but he can't do it all on his own.

I have no idea why it happens, but on the road, or at neutral sites, this team just forgets how to play team ball. They can't protect a lead most of the time, even if it is substantial. This team wins by having assists on over 60 percent of their baskets. Look at tonight. 12 assists on 31 baskets. That's "Me first" basketball. Look at their other losses. I don't know why it happens. but it does. The only exceptions are the losses at KU (where everybody loses) and Baylor (close loss).

What concerns me is that this team is not showing the improvement that CFH teams have showed in the past. The message does not seem to be getting through to them or the necessary corrections made.

We need another ball handler. Basically the only two that can effectively initiate the offense are Niang and Morris. When both of them are struggling....as they did tonight....then the team is going to struggle "sharing" the ball. Just a tough night all around and quite frankly I'm glad that we are done with the Big Monday-Saturday combo for a few weeks. Team is basically going 7.5 deep at this point and the two game turnaround involving travel has got to be wearing on them a little bit. I'll be very interested to see how they play against Oklahoma State next week. If they win the next two and get back to 9-4 heading to Texas on the 21st then I still believe we have a shot at 2nd place and maybe a tie for 1st if KU falters at Kansas State.

Just want to again remind you guys that at this time last year ISU had just taken a 30 point shellacking at West Virginia

I'm tired of people saying it'll be okay.

Our worst nights now are better than our best nights from 2001 to 2010...

Everything is okay. Our expectations lately (and our overall bitchiness) have just been through the roof.

Gosh almighty. This team/this game is so much fun. I can't see why we hate so much nowadays.
