Didn't mean to start a big deal here, but I think it is funny as this is always a passionate conversation, which I knew before posting.

CyDude16, do you add anything to this site besides your immature input?

I don't see why some of you are so down on the original poster. The owners of the Kum and Go are big Hawk supports, and a part of every dollar you spend there is going to support the Iowa Athletic program. There are no come and go's in Cedar Rapids, or at least none I know of or shop at. There are lots of convenience stores around and they are basically all selling the same crap. Yes, I know it is petty, but it is my money and I don't want to spend it where I know part of it will go to support the Hawks.

You are making a business decision cause of a your fan hood. You wonder why the little brother comments are always around, ad its because of people like you. It's pathetic. Some people need to be able to separate themselves from sports and actual lives.

And I am a barometer on everything, whatever I like, is what people should like. I'm kind of a big deal.

Actually I said F, not ****. Good catch there. Oh I've hardly cared for this site with the constant stupidity going into threads here. It makes our fans look pathetic. It's honestly sad. I shared my opinion too!

i absolutely agree with the OP.... its just tacky to do for a business.... its not like kum n go is a specialty business... you can go to any gas station on the next corner and get the same price for what you are getting.... now granted i will completely forget about this and probably be inside a kum n go within the next week... BUT... as a business owner, I would NEVER jeopardize sales by flying an ISU flag outside of my business just to let everyone know where my allegiance is.... AND for what its worth I have gone elsewhere when seeing this above example in other stores... not because they are hawk fans but because they don't know how to separate sports from business.... two different things to ALL OF US

That's because Casey's and Road Ranger basically bought out the entire CR metro.

Casey's pretty much bout out the entire area a couple of years ago.

I always base my purchases on what team the owner follows. I even go as far as to ask clerks if they are Hawk fans before allowing them to touch my yet-to-be purchases. If they answer yes, i just go to other stores.

I really hope that asking the cashier for this information is the first thing you do once inside of the store. Instead of asking them after you bring your cart of yet-to-be purchases to the counter. Otherwise your a idiot, and just wasted your time.

Not if he gets to throw a coke on a hawk-****. I call that a very productive evening.

Bill Krause (the owner on k&g) was the waterboy for Iowa football team. He is a huge donor to Iowa and used to fly Alford on recruiting trips in his private plane. Don't know if he is still that involved or not.

I try to avoid Kum & Go when I can but it has nothing to do with the hawks. It is because he is a huge ******-bag!

Remember, you do have choices where to shop!

I took this photo at the Kum & GO HQ a couple weeks ago when I had a meeting in West Des Moines. Everyone knows that K&G's owner is a big Hawk supporter, however, I consider this blatantly alienating part of your customer base and bad business. As a marketer, I would never fly an ISU flag in front of my company unless my business was based off of ISU.

Never noticed it before out there. Just passing it along,

Z

Just an FYI, but Who's and Whose are different words with different meanings.

I want to say this thread is dumb but I cant because I will never EVER buy anything in Johnson county/IC again. I hate IC with a burning passion, I will run out of gas before I stop there. Otherwise I couldn't care less who owns Kum N Go.

Who cares. On a side note: did you know they were going to call the business Ejaculate & Evacuate, but since wading through all those syllables would be too difficult for Squawk fans, they settled on Kum & Go.

anyone ever heard of ISU's College of Engineering "Krause Scholarship" ? The Krause family donates to many different schools and charities.

I bolded the punch line.

How can you tell a person is an Iowa Hawk fan?

ISU gets the leftovers...the difference between the Iowa and ISU donations is enormous. I turned down a job there because of the hawkdom and the dress code several years back. I avoid K & G like the plague. They were the lead donor on the Kinnick renovation.

Laugh at me, I do not care.

Did you have to wear hawk gear or was clothing optional?
