Why so angry this year

exactly, let's not pretend like its crazy to question what role the coaching had on this horribly underachieving season. Sometimes I just didn't see needed adjustments in games. Low flexibility and creativity on coaching is my soft opinion. At the end of the day I don't feel like I know what happened.

I love Prohm but I’d love to see fire and passion out of him. I would’ve loved to see THT get yelled at a bit at some point in the season. Take a notch off the pride for a little bit and hopefully he would get his **** together after

Do we know he hasn’t been yelled at in practice? I’ve heard practice has been rough.

We see these guys for 2 hours twice a week. We don’t know everything that goes on nor should we.

I feel bad for CW.

He obviously wants as much conversation on this site as possible, but you can tell some of this stuff is wearing thin with him, especially knowing he's probably more knowledgeable about what's really going on inside the program and locker room than anyone who isn't already working for the Athletics Department.

It's really easy to just not be a ****.

Saw the draw and figured we’d lose in the way we lost. Not surprised.

Bad matchup and this team has trouble fighting through adversity. Time to wait until next year and see what we have.

“This team has trouble fighting through adversity”...this is why I ******* hate people.

I think the reason for the anger/toxicity this year is that it very clearly could’ve been so much more. While 23-12 isn’t disappointing on paper, in reality this was a team that could beat anyone and far too many times failed to achieve what they could.

Yes! This! More yelling! I want my coach to be totally untrue to who he is as a person because that is how you get kids to respond! Yes. God you’re a geneous it’s so simple. A couple tirades with spittle flying in tHt’s face and chair smash in the timeouts and everything is different!

Ohio St was awful......we were worse.....very sad....very disappointed in both Players and Coaches.

I'm only disappointed in the loss. We place unrealistic expectations on a man who's livelihood depends on how KIDS respond under pressure under long periods of time. That man has taken us to 3 NCAAs, 2 conference tourney championships, and reloaded our talent while he balances out the classes.

Oh - his kids are CHARACTER kids who represent the university in many positive ways.

You act like all this anger is just specific to Cyclonefanatic.

During our losing streak to end the season I was bored one day, so I decided to take a little trip over to Marquette and Ohio States message boards. I figured since they were collapsing just as bad as us I wanted to get an insight on what other fans think.

Without getting into specifics, you can pretty much copy and paste posts from site to site, just change the names of the coaches and players around, and call it good.

So it's ok and we should attack players and coaches, or are you saying its sad we've come to this when cheering on our university? Cause I seem to recollect you being a little on the negative side all the time...

I agree I don't know of they would have worked, but I will say that we know that making zero changes didn't work. Their big man scored 21, had 5 offensive rebounds, and only 1 turnover. I've seen coaches fail while trying new things trying to get something to work, we failed while doing nothing to try and fix it. I'm sorry, but in a one and done tournament you don't get to try again tomorrow. He did nothing and expected a different result? That's just silly.

But we were in the game every stinking minute. We were playing like we had for 30+ games where we won 23 of them. Nothing about that screams throwing baby out with bath water.

I was thinking about this earlier today. Throughout life I maintain that managing 'expectations' is the most important thing in life. Oddly, 'marketing' plays to our optimism. Are they marketing the truth? Not likely, because they want to sell tickets. 'Optimism' sells tickets. But when a team does not live up to the expectations established the natural consequential emotion is 'anger'. Those of us who don't suck up the marketing hype sleep better.

Yesterday was bad, but the season is over?
Yesterday was bad, but the last month suggests we’ve had ample time to see it coming?

No, it doesn’t always go both ways. If you’re thinking it does, you’re being too emotional and misconstruing the criticism. Yesterday is the “but” in the statements of “good, but”. You are one of a few posters that are so emotional and continually in meltdown mode over what they read, that you don’t read the “bad, but” posts.

Which is likely why your ilk complain about toxicity, but are the more toxic posters. I view it as misguided passion and generally enjoy seeing the anger over criticism, but perhaps this isn’t the place for you all.

The irony. You’ve been giddy with the cheap shots at prohm and pollard since the Alabama thing.

You are not a basketball savant like you try to present yourself to be.

In fact swarthy, you would be one of the main drivers of the anti prohm rage group.

My biggest pet peeve has always been adults who can't control themselves. What you are talking about is not exclusive to what you read CF. It's a cultural epidemic.

I missed the first half last night because I had spent the entire afternoon and evening in the e.r. trying to find out if my teenage son had a brain bleed.

Forgive me if I take a hissy fit response to a lost basketball game as a character flaw in people who repeatedly exhibit a lack of proportionate response to things that just don't ******* matter in any real sense.

That's all I'm going to say about it.

I didn’t look to see who it was, but how could anyone think this is funny?

Best wishes to your son. Hope everything is ok
