I’d rate it NCAA tournament then everything else. That’s the reality of college basketball.

Our fans tend to rate the Big 12 tournament pretty high based on the number of people that attend and the lack of attendance in Tulsa.

If Iowa State fans cared about the NCAA they would save their money for the NCAA rather than spend a weekend in Kansas City.

My only criticism of CSP would be what Pride touched on earlier. There were some obvious bad calls last night and other games for that matter. He should have let the refs have it, technical or not to let the players know he has there back. The game is about having that first shot go in, emotion, momentum. It wasn't our night. We played hard. We were the better team.

I don't know what he did last night, but he does go after the refs pretty hard. But you just don't see it on TV. He's not a volcano ready to blast, so the cameras aren't on him.

Forums will always be a dumpster fire. We could be 32-0 and it would still be a dumpster fire. People always need a reason to bi*ch.

It's because we saw a glimpse of what we could've been before the collapse. Our expectations grew and we all drank the Kool-Aid and now we're "dead"

Amestown massacre if you will.

Perhaps. I wasn't there last night. 2 of my nephews were. They're on the way home. I'll ask them.

I guess I just won’t understand people who care more about the conference tourney than the NCAA.

More tired than angry. Tired of underperforming on our seed line. Tired of watching officials be responsible for major swings in the game. Tired of watching less-talented teams always go farther in the tournament.

Or people can plan on traveling to KC months in advance rather than traveling to an unknown destination with less than 5 days notice.

This was the first time in all of Prohm's years we have under performed on our seed line. But nice try.....

True. But they go to Kansas City because it is fun.

Do I want a Sweet 16? Of course. But last weekend was fun too.

I’m sorry this is stupid. It’s easy and cheap to go to KC, and you know right where you are going to be. We know the P&L is fun. We could have been in San Jose for all we know. Plus, the big 12 tourney is 10x the in person event that the NCAA tourney is.

For the millionth time it’s fun. I’m glad it’s fun. I’ve been there every year we’ve won it. It’s not more important than the tournament.

I can also tell you it wasn’t more important to most of these same posters in 2014-15. That season was deemed a failure by these same people despite being 12-6 in the conference, winning the conference title but losing on the first day.

Completely agree with both of those things. But I’m a bit put off by the double standard this morning of 14-15 being considered a failure by the same people that consider this season a success.

I put a ton of value in the regular season and conference tournament so a bad result in the NCAA tournament never dictates how I view the season.

Are there people that are saying that?

I consider both fairly successful. I will say in 14-15, we had all of those comebacks. They were fun. And they made some of their own luck. But some of them were still lucky. No matter what, it was lucky that Monte hit that shot against Texas. It was lucky that Oklahoma missed a wide open layup.

This years team was not especially lucky. They certainly didn't make their own luck, but the ball just didn't bounce their way a ton either.

I think both will be deemed successful in the long run. I do think there is a difference between 9-9 and 12-6 in the conference. But when you win the conference tourney I don’t know how that season can’t be seen as a failure.

I’m not angry. But it’s frustrsting to watch talent underperform. Prohm preaches peaking in March. And two of our starters clearly didn’t do that. Last 3 games:

Babb 7/24 from the field, 3/12 from 3
Horton-Tucker 6/24, 0/9 from 3

Can’t win many games with those stats.

The tournament is a crap shoot. There are teams every year that get upset. They have they talent to be a sweet sixteen team but things happen.

Virginia had the talent to be a final four team last year and we all know how that ended.

Making a judgment off an arbitrary result from one data point is insanity. And we clearly have a lot of insane “fans” on this board.

9-9 in the conference also clearly demonstrates ISU not living up to expectations

I have a hard time getting too worked up about Babb. I think he is basically a walking injury.
