I shoveled $hit on the farm and scooped feed, grain and snow. Never had a snow shovel. Just used the tractor and loader.

I shoveled out feed bunks and calf hutches. Skidloader or tractor for the rest. But that was a boy's job :rolleyes:

Saw a NWS tweet that referenced a potential light snowfall on Friday with another potential snow event late Sunday or Monday. I prefer the novelty of no major snowfalls by mid-January to the novelty of 4-5 snowfalls in two weeks.

A popular blogger said this of that snow storm this weekend: "The EURO is just off the charts with snowfall from this system. It's so extreme I can't even put it up to avoid a social media melt down."

If someone comes in a truck and clears your driveway then they are “scooping” your driveway (or “scooping” a parking lot”).

If you go outside with a shovel and do it manually it is shoveling.

Truck = blading snow

Both wrong.

By hand it is shoveling, by truck, skid loader, tractor, etc it is moving snow or pushing snow.

Oh, annual PSA I should have posted last snow storm.

CLEAR YOUR VEHICLE COMPLETELY OF SNOW!!!!!!

Not just the windows....everything. Hood, roof, trunk. You don't want snow flying off the hood onto your windshield, and I don't want a chunk of snow or snow/ice from your roof or trunk to come flying off and hit my windshield.

/rant

Couldn't agree more. My wife gets annoyed with me, because I yell at people who don't do this. Driving around town with only half the windows uncovered, just screams "I'm lazy and can't be bothered to drive safely"

Well that's the kiss of death right there. Lock it in, folks: we'll have a light dusting of snow overnight on Sunday.

Not exactly sure.
To determine whether its scooping or shoveling, I consulted the dictionary. U.D. did not solve the the question.

I mean, I grew up on a farm. We had a few of those in feed bins. I've heard scoop shovel before but we still said shovel. Maybe "scoop up that wet feed" from my dad but never in reference to snow.

Weirdos.

A couple of inches are probably likely but I don't know that I would get too crazy with the one this weekend. Next weeks will probably be a lot like yesterday/last night. Quad Cities also mentioned that it could be colder than the next couple of days and possibly break records.
