Lol, I tried to "pre-qualify" for it but my $2500 a month salary wasn't quite what they were looking for in a buyer. Why does he have a Greta Thunberg portrait on his wall

No kidding. Iowans are lucky to have extremely affordable housing options by national standards.Yeah when my West Des Moines friends complain about property prices...
That neighborhood looks alot older than 2012 builds.1901 Vista Ln, Austin, TX 78703 | MLS #6993645 | Zillow
This 4088 square feet Single Family home has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. It is located at 1901 Vista Ln, Austin, TX.www.zillow.com
My guess is that this is in an older, more exclusive part of Austin where original homes are being torn down and rebuilt with new construction. This is common in cities like this where people want new homes but also don’t desire to be on the outskirts of town where there are new tract developments going up.That neighborhood looks alot older than 2012 builds.
Beard doesn't have to worry about income tax now either....On the flip side, no state income tax in Texas, so you'd have that going for you...

I have a 3 car garage, but no stalls. Would be useful for when I'm working in my garage and need to take a ****.5 mill and you get a two stall garage, that’s wild
Helpful however for the occupant of your house running for help after getting strangled.Yeah, for 5 mil I'd expect to be more than 20 ft from the nearest neighbor.

Agree. Like many things, scarcity of certain types of real estate drives value . It is not easy to find larger, newly constructed single family housing close to urban centers and entertainment districts.I’ve drive around that area/side of Austin. The feel I got from it was it being a ritzy area for wealthy people who want to be close to urban life, but with the features of a suburban home. To me, it’s similar to Naperville, IL or Prairie Village, KS, where, like you said, people tear down houses and build ones.
So while the house has some more left to be desired adds on the size vs cost, I think your paying for the location more so than the house itself.
He'll be coaching somewhere next year
