To be fair Husker fans are some of the most irrational in the country. It's pretty crazy the hate Martinez gets from them. He was their entire team the last 4 years. People would probably be surprised to see his stats compared to a guy like Brock Purdy. He threw less interceptions and fumbled fewer times than Brock on far more carries. He also has a similar completion percentage. Him being the scapegoat in Lincoln is more about the arrogance and delusion husker fans who think they are just one player away from the cfp. Not to mention focusing on Martinez takes the attention off of the 20 million dollar elephant in the room.
