Woof, Vegas. The I-Cubs will outdraw that in a weekend.

I do wonder how the USFL will do. I would like to see another pro league survive but I can’t see two surviving. Maybe the XFL and USFL will have to merge, take the top few teams in terms of attendance, and dump the rest.

How was the atmosphere? Nice sized crowd? I wonder how the XFL is doing in terms of attendance.
The lower half of the dome was filled along with part of the upper sections. The atmosphere was better than any Rams' game I attended and I went to quite a few. It helped that the Battlehawks game I went to was close throughout and the Battlehawks managed to pull it out in OT. I really liked the XFL's OT format.

TV numbers - week 10

DC Defenders vs San Antonio Brahmas – ABC – 832,000 avg. viewers
St. Louis Battlehawks vs Orlando Guardians – ESPN – 636,000 avg. viewers
Arlington Renegades vs Houston Roughnecks – ESPN – 403,000 avg. viewers
Seattle Sea Dragons vs Vegas Vipers – ESPN2 – 378,000 avg. viewers

Two weeks after ABC averaged over 1 million viewers and ESPN had two broadcasts averaging over 700K combined viewers for its doubleheader, TV ratings are sliding.

One of these is not like the others.

I watched the XFL games this weekend, and the games were good with decent attendance. I tuned into the USFL and those stadiums were empty. That’s not good. The XFL is doing it right playing games in soccer specific stadiums rather than large football facilities.

Not sure that's 100% correct.

St. Louis - Dome (former Rams home)
San Antonio - Alamodome
Seattle - Lumen Field (Seahawks)
Houston - U of Houston
Orlando - Camping World Stadium
---------
Arlington - old Rangers ballpark, retrofitted for FB/soccer
---------
D.C. - soccer venue
Vegas - former Minor League Baseball park, retrofitted for soccer

Well if you want to get specific….

Anyway, my point stands. People were showing up at the XFL games this weekend and not the USFL games.

5 of the 8 teams are playing in "large football facilities."

For those who don't follow, 4 teams from the XFL are merging with 4 markets from the USFL to create the United Football League.

Preliminary rosters have been released, and it looks like we're all Battlehawk fans again.

Mike Rose, Hakeem Butler, and Willie Harvey are all expected to return to the team with Anthony Becht as head coach.

No other Cyclones are in the league yet:

Makes way more sense than having two competing leagues for the spring market. Hopefully this will succeed where all others have failed. Can't say I've been an avid fan of any of them, but I could be persuaded if they can persist for long enough to get something established.

Has anyone gone to a Battlehawks game? I am assuming the tickets aren’t too bad, was wondering about the experience in general, parking, etc.
