Cy's was good until the last 2 or 3 years of management, then the place really soured on me.

People's was always great so I'll say that was my favorite. (The Des Moines version is quickly becoming the place to go out to as well)

I liked Mickeys alot, spent alot of time there and didn't have to worry about lines since a few guys from the team worked there. The year before they opened we had alot of fun at Dean's List... Sips was fun right around last call and MoJazz wasn't bad either...

Tradewinds on Friday nights in the summer (late 90's early 00's). Great talent, always packed. Never heard of it until after I graduated and played slow pitch softball. Awesome times.

Joe's Knighthawk.
Oh wait, you said Ames.

Showin a little love to Waverly...I like it!

Personally...People's is and always will be my favorite even though its gone. I did like Cy's though...$1 Burgers was sweet. Also...$.01 (penny pitchers!) at MoJaz was always good news too.

The Zone was quite fun for a while as well (when they offered penny pitchers of Bud Light from 7-10 with $3 cover). Vividly remember talking to Lee Love outside the flooded bathroom.
