Given that he is up a weight and I believe that is his only loss this season out of probably 30 matches, I would say he is doing ok. I would also guess that his mat wrestling has improved considerably since the beginning of the season. He is already a world class freestyler and appears to be transitioning to folkstyle in a similar trajectory as Bastida.
Also lost to Rathjen he’s 13-2 only 15 matches and his best win is probably Drew Roberts of Minnesota

Ankeny, IA.
At 149. Not sure if he would be 141 or 149 for us. Either Redding at 141 or Johnson/Swiderski at 149.
Hard to believe we’d have both Paniro and Casey at 149 but you are a lot more in tune than I am.

133 - Ramazan/Frost
141 - Casey/Redding/Frost/AE
149 -Paniro/Casey/AE
157 - Kraisser/Cam/Euton

Congestion!

I am not saying or inferring that we will.

Just saying that we are covered and in pretty good shape at 141 with Redding, Frost, and Ech:
at 149 with Johnson, Swiderski, Cam or Ech
at 157, we have Cam, hard to say about Swiderski. I don't think Ech would be big enough for 157

I want Casey to grow to be 157 but I don’t know if that’s realistic. I also wonder if he wants to try to make a run at 2024 and 2028 at 65kg. If he does, which I’m sure in his mind he does, he wouldn’t go above 149

Casey might not even qualify for NCAAs. Olympic runs should not be getting any thought.

To be fair he has an injury as well as his problems are on bottom. The kid when healthy is dynamite on his feet and still very very young. He’s better suited for freestyle - see guys like Alirez and Gomez who have both proven that growth is possible when talent is present.

At this point, it is no guarantee that Ech would even start for Iowa State, if he was allowed on the team.
That is the point I am making

Johnson and Swiderski both at 149 that has someone hitting the portal written all over it doesn’t it? Just can’t see how either one wouldn’t want to be the guy at their weight

No doubt Cael has built a formidable situation at PSU which includes the NLWC. And for how mush $$$ Dresser seems to raise the caliber of athletes in CWC is sub-par. Having said that, if I were Dresser/Metcalf/St. John my argument would be a team can only start 10 guys. At the end of the day wrestlers want to put on a singlet and compete. You can achieve just as much at ISU as you can at PSU (i.e. David Carr).

The above is a misconception. Other clubs are raising WAY more $$$. There isn’t enough at the moment. My piddly support isn’t enough. Lol
