2 years ago and Carr was at 157 a few weeks before. Was curious if he had closed the gap, but we won't get to know yet.
First, as a world class competitor, I suspect DC and KOT would want to give it a go and let the chips fall where they may. They don't get to the level they are at without that type of mindset. And as someone else pointed out Marsteller took out JB not that long ago.
Second, and I could be very wrong here, but it used to be there were some incentives for placing in the top X (3?) at the trials. I believe both financially and qualifying for other tournaments. That may have changed, but even if it has, I'm sure DC and KOT would like to see where they stack up between all the competitors, not just Dake.
Nittany Lion Club puts: 65kg, 74kg, 86kg, 97kg, 125kg on the Olympic Team.. HWC puts Lee in at 57kg ???

They will have a tough time taking the spot at 65 and 125 but both are achievable. 65kg will be more realistic with their numbers at the weight but 74 also isn’t a certainty

Moving down was not a good move for Cass from a wrestling standpoint. He’s just not skilled in the way that is needed at the lower weights. Probably good for his long term health however.
