No it isn't. I'm still of the opinion that it was more a problem with the administrators then Paterno but regardless ignoring history doesn't make it better. Remembering history fully will prevent it from happening again.

Wow, are you a PSU alum?

Surprised they want to deal with the media attention from this.

Water under the bridge baby. JoePa was just unintended collateral damage in cleaning up that little situation. Dear lord I wish we had pirate jimlad back.

Was it proven that Paterno knew of the crime? If he honestly never knew he was employing a pedophile I could understand.
A court hearing document was recently released that basically said a victim confronted Paterno about it, and Paterno said he had a football team to run.

No but he didn't rape them. Sandusky is the one that deserves the outrage. Paterno should have done more to stop it but he didn't rape the kids.

Or even one single stinking thing. For example:
1. Call the police.
2. Stop publicizing Sandusky.
3. Fire him in 1974 when he first (for now) found out.
4. Refuse him access to Penn State facilities, including showers, bathrooms, weight rooms, fields, and the office he maintained for decades.
5. Turn his back while parents let justice be served. He liked turning his back, after all.

Or, just do absolutely nothing, keep winning and making a fortune the JoePa way.

There's no limit to ways this scumbag should be dishonored. There should never be another moment of honor for a man that willingly enabled a known pedophile again.

This, and JoPa's big thing was doing things the right way or something like that. Lo and behold he didn't do things the right way in 1974 when it was tough, but the right thing to do.

He knew it was happening. He didn't stop it, although he was certainly in a position to do so. He was complicit.

Paterno was more powerful than PSU's presidents that blaming the admininstration instead of him is totally absurd idea.

I know this isn't a popular opinion but we shouldn't ignore his accomplishments just because of the scandal.

If this were something else that's not OK, like an OWI, perhaps that's the case.

But children were knowingly molested and nothing was done about it. Think about some of most vile, disgusting people you've ever known about, and try to imagine if anyone should look the other way if they'd just won some football games.
