I drive by there everyday. It doesn’t seem like enough space around there for parking and the facility.
Here’s the site zoomed to roughly the same scale as the Kansas City location.

I hate the location.
I was hoping Top Golf would take Suite Shots location down on Grand. With the RecPlex and the indoor waterpark/hotel coming, that's a much better location.

Yep. Love that they are building in WDSM, but I work right by there and it seems like that is a very small area for this.

I still can't believe non of these are building near I-35 in Ankeny. It would open up the entire Ames crowd as well. If i still lived in Ames I wouldn't come down to use it super frequently but I know I'd be way more willing to drive to Ankeny than Johnston or West Des Moines.

You mean like in a giant grass lot near a outlet mall, bass pro shop, casino and amusement park?

If one of these were in Altoona it would print money.

The one in Johnston will be right off the interstate. I think it will still do well for folks on the north and east side. I hate having to go out to Jordan Creek for anything and I don’t think I’m alone in that mentality. Plus bombers will have indoor simulators where you can play golf, baseball, hockey, etc.

Looks like they are moving dirt around at the future WDSM Top Golf location.

how in the world did Altoona crap the bed on this. None of these golf places exist for years, the Bass Pro, outlet, adventureland and praise meadows areas has open land, and they don't put one of these there? meanwhile there is now going to be 2-3 of these things on the west side of Des Moines?
Wonder if they at least tried and it was a tax incentive or land price thing.

I know that the big triangle shaped area is owned by a developer and has future plans to turn into a mix of residential and small commercial.

I’m sure Top Golf does their market research, and a nice chunk of it is probably median income within several different radius markers. That WDM location has to have one of, if not the highest median incomes inside of the 2-5-10 mile radiuses.
