Agreed. Not to mention that LE's verbally abusive style burned out his players. If you are going to disqualify Nurse because of recruiting, then you better disqualify LE as well.

Nurse has won just pretty much everywhere he has gone, and it has been reported that Nurse's player relation skills are good. Plus, Nurse's "buyout" would be considerably smaller...

Hows that style of coaching working out for K-State? Sorry, but LE is a MUCH MUCH better option than Nurse.

I dont think Iowa could afford Gregory, so why would we? wasnt he on their list? I know he was in the middle of the NIT, but he already makes good money for mid majors.

I just want someone who is passionate about the university and can sell me on his passion like Rhoads. IIRC, the majority of us weren't overly excited about Rhoads, but it's turned out alright so far. We'd all like to be excited about it, but in the end I don't care. I just want someone that can win

What has brian gregory done at Dayton....nothing at all....Probably a good coach would be Todd Bozeman, who coached up Cal with Jason Kidd, Tony Gonzalez in the mid-90's...

Now that he has vanquished his devils he will be a winner at a big conference school if he gets a chance. He's languishing at a terrible bb school now, not doing awful, but the best he can with the cards he is dealt.

He can't even get his team in the NIT after six years, while sober, and a couple NAIA teams on the schedule every year.

What FM is doing at KSU is not really relevant. The issue is how that style of coaching worked out for LE the last time he was at ISU, and why it would be different this time around.

Why is LE a "MUCH MUCH" better option than Nurse?

LE was also responsible for quite possibly the most embarrasing MBB loss in ISU history. At least CBS wasn't rerunning the low-lights as much this year...

You're forgetting the 25-point butt-pounding Steve Alford delivered to Larry in Hilton; making it one of the worst losses in Hilton history.

oh, and Not to mention the 1st round loss in the NIT that Alford also delivered on Larry-'Can't Travel with the Team" - Eustachy.

Thanks Larry; continue in your mediocrity at So Miss.

More questions, no answers - What about Otzelberger, Nurse and Grayer? My sense is that they are seen as good assistants - should they stay? Is Otzelberger worth a shot at head coach? Will they go to Creighton?

Do you really think Iowa couldn't afford Gregory? You have to be joking, right?

The truth is, Gregory was very interested in the Iowa job, but told Barta he wouldn't speak to them until their season was over. Barta didn't want to wait until their NIT run was over, so that was that.

From Paul Clark on Rivals site. Some solid possibilities among 15 or so guys. It's a free article.

CycloneReport.com - With McDermott out, who comes in for ISU?

That is a very nice list. Many solid candidates. Only a few on there like Sutton and Moore that have me thinking, whaaat?

ISU is still a GOOD job, and with the new practice facility, we are in a great position. It is relatively late in the year, but I think that lists clearly demonstrates there are a lot of alternatives -- despite the wailing from the crowd that we couldn't do any better. We can and we will. Ray or Montogomery would be great gets.

For some reason Chris Collins does absolutely nothing for me? He just doesn't seem like a head coach to me. Just a lifetime assistant type coach. Also, I doubt he'd stay here long either.

It is a good list. But I feel strongly that there is absolutely no reason we can't get a great coach that is currently a successful head coach. I hope we put the full court press on one of these successful head coaches!
