Nah, just tainted by pessimism and decades of disgust and disdain. Hopefully the bats can get healthy against Cleveland and the pitching staff regains that magic they've had.

I mean I completely get where you are coming from... one awesome month cant undue 29 years of ****. Just don't let the reality of the math cloud whats really happening.

Detroit legitimately struggles with bad teams and honestly if it wasn't for the fact that they were 9-4 vs Royals this race would be over.

Winning 60% of your games against Texas, Minnesota and Colorado is the epitome of mediocre since those teams have lost 60% of their games this year. That's all I am saying.

"Mediocre" teams aren't 13-8 (0.619) against the top three teams in the A.L. Are you trying to troll or does it just come naturally?

I want Ned replaced right now and even I think that yours is an extreme position.

With who? Shall we see what Trey Hillman or Buddy Bell are up to? :jimlad:

Seriously, can't we all just enjoy the fact that we are in first place and playing, arguably, our best baseball in almost three decades? I'm on the Fire Yost bandwagon too, but there are better things to be discussing with this team right now.

**** man... I've tried to block that uni cycling dope out of my memory...

Now I will admit I have a soft spot for Buddy Bell because anyone who answers the question "Is this Rock Bottom?'' with "I'll never say it can't get worse," is alright in my book.

I think it is hilarious that anybody is on the Fire Yost bandwagon. Too much groupthink from Royals fans online. I have some issues with Yost's lineups and occasionally roster construction, but those are just one piece of the puzzle.

He is sure is hell not going to get canned when he is managing the best team in baseball in the second half. Earlier in this thread a poster was angry about his management of the 25th roster spot and lineups. I could just imagine Dayton addressing the team, "I know you guys are in first place and all, but we had too fire Ned. We aren't happy with the way he is managing the 7th reliever, and we aren't happy with his lineup construction, even though you've been one of the top offenses in baseball in August and playing great ball. Carry on with the pennant race."

I just think Ned is a little bit of a jerk and does some quirky things, but I don't think that's necessarily worth firing him.

If one month from now this thread turns into a thread discussing why KC is not in the playoffs, then I want the entire staff and front office replaced.

Good grief, just let me have my overreactive, nervous moment and move on. The Indians have won 11 of their last 16 and roll into KC next and I am a little wound up about it. that's all.

weve got what 23 official games left (cleveland game is a loss) At the bare worst we have to go 13-10 and atleast split with the tigers. I hope im being a pessismist and it doesnt come true but I just dont like how we rely on weak batters at the top of our order over and over again. Omar isnt even up to .300 for his obp yet he hits second, mean while we have players like cain and escobar batting at the bottom of the lineup surrounded by mr. mendoza line with no true back up since colon broke his finger. It just seems like our pitching isnt good enough to overcome the offense down the stretch. Totally hope Im wrong as I want the Royals in the playoffs badly, just need a lot of luck to do it.

Omar bats second just because Yost says so. Escobar is a horrible top of the lineup hitter for some reason though. Jason nix was a stupid pick up. I don't see why Gordon can't bat 2nd or 3rd. Maybe that will change when Hos is back

Gordon has been batting 3rd the last several games. And thank God, its about time.

havent heard how long is willingham out? What are they going to do with the 1B DH roles between the three players, unless hosmer can hit for some power soon should they just go back to Billy at 1B (replaced by Hosmer 7-9 innings) and Willingham DH'ing most of the time?

HUGE series coming up for both KC and Detroit. KC goes to the Yankees for three and Detroit hosts San Fran for three before KC heads to Detroit for three.

The Giants have been pretty hot lately and are fighting desperately for a playoff spot so I expect Detroit will have their hands full with them. The Yankees still have some hope to slide into the last wildcard spot but I don't think they have the pitching or the hitting lately to take 2+ of 3 from KC. Get out of there with a series win and the Royals should be in good shape. If we can get the Kate Upton Curse to continue on Verlander on Monday then maybe that amps up the Royals to take that series as well.

Huge series starting today. Really need the bats to wake up, but the pitching has just been amazing.

Waiting for news on Duffy...
