I agree, it gives us a completely different dynamic now that teams need to prepare for. You could really see him coming into his own during the Kansas game. I dont think he scored alot but you could tell his presence out there was at least affecting shots which is more than we had with Holden or Bowie.
Bowie's suspension might have been the turning point in our season.

You get players good however you can -- high school, prep school, undergraduate transfers, JUCOs, graduate transfer, I do not really care where.

Watch a young player blossom and grow into manhood (again).
Fred's emphasis on transfers and lack of recruiting his last two years in Ames kind of slowed that down, though he did give us the careers of Melvin Ejim, Georges Niang, Monté Morris (hang #3, #31, and #11), Naz Mitrou-Long, and Matt Thomas to watch.
Watching Solomon grow and improve over the next three years, as well as Long and the other four freshmen coming in next year, is going to be a pleasure.
Fred had success in his ways, but I am going to enjoy watching young players come in, improve, and mature in this kind of way again. We missed that the past few years.
It works for Wisconsin. Sometimes you need to make your own grown *** men.

Excited for Saturday. We didn't play any bigs last game against TCU, and got torched. Now Young and Holden are emerging. Much more confident now.
I know it seems like Solomon should have started weeks ago, but I think we have to give a nod to the process that Prohm made him go through to get to this point. Nothing good comes easy and we have pretty darn good team right now.
Watching an ISU big man follow shots(offensive) to the rim, and score on tip-ins, is a breath of fresh air. That simple act saved ISU tonight. Way to go Solomon.
**** yeah. I look forward to seeing what Jakolby will do for ISU next year.
Dude's got legit instincts. Very hard to coach that in a big man. TJ left us a gift!
agreed with the starting.. But weeks ago he was barely getting minutes and monte wouldn't event look at him. I'm sure he's gotten better but some of the games when we were chucking brick after brick and no one would pass to him except Donovan or babb once or twice a blue moon.
He had 16pts by the time I was able to watch the remainder of the game. Got very excited, as I thought, "man, he finally got the rock on some of those pick-n-rolls". Doesn't sound like that is the case. All "lunch pail/hard hat" buckets? Even more impressive.
Seems to be handling it well. Not many would with that many missed opportunities. Assume he knows it all changes next year. He's going to be fun to watch when he becomes an integral part of the offense
I think we are seeing CSP going with guys that can produce.
They easily left another 6-8 points for him by missing open looks down low.
Literally everything he got were hustle plays on the offensive boards, catching a few balls that hit him in the gut when the defense collapsed on a driving guard for a dunk or lay-up, and then just hustle in running from rim-to-rim for good looks.
Like others and I have said, the spirit of Melvin Ejim is strong in this one.
I hope Jackson and Wigginton have their eyes up on this guy next year. Both when they drive and when he rolls hard to the basket on the pick-and-roll. He has good hands and he is a huge target that I am sure no rotating defender wants to get in front of. He will "make" plenty for himself in cleaning up trash inside and on the rim, too.

I know, you were calling for him to play two months before Prohm played him. Might have gotten us to a decent seed.
Freshman Ejim had brick hands...Solomon may have better tools than Ejim did at this point in their careers.
