For all y'all who said John Mulaney - his first show at Hoyt Sherman sold out in a couple of hours, so they just opened up another. A girlfriend and I got tickets:

I loved his first special, New in Town. Didn't care quite as much for Comeback Kid, but he's very funny. I didn't even know he was going to be in Des Moines.
Hoyt Sherman has really stepped up their game the last few years. Which is great, because it's an excellent small venue. No bad seat in the house.I have NO idea how it sold out so quickly, since I haven't seen it promoted anywhere other than from Hoyt-Sherman's email list? I guess he featured it on his Facebook and Twitter pages, but I didn't know that Iowa was a hotbed of John Mulaney fans! I love his stuff, but he's never been someone I've heard my friends mention or anything!
I really like his cadence of speech, and his Ice-T bits are maybe some of my favorite comedy ever.
