Old school, but I did see George Carlin and he was awesome. I also saw Andrew "Dice" Clay. Plus Dana Carvey.
Love Jeff Dunham.

Saw Steven Wright will be at Meskwaki next month, his dry sense of humor is great. Everything Ive seen of him of late has been not so great so I doubt I go, but in his prime he was great.

I loved his first special, New in Town. Didn't care quite as much for Comeback Kid, but he's very funny. I didn't even know he was going to be in Des Moines.

I have NO idea how it sold out so quickly, since I haven't seen it promoted anywhere other than from Hoyt-Sherman's email list? I guess he featured it on his Facebook and Twitter pages, but I didn't know that Iowa was a hotbed of John Mulaney fans! I love his stuff, but he's never been someone I've heard my friends mention or anything!

I really like his cadence of speech, and his Ice-T bits are maybe some of my favorite comedy ever.

Hoyt Sherman has really stepped up their game the last few years. Which is great, because it's an excellent small venue. No bad seat in the house.

I went to Band of Horses there for my first show there this November-ish, but would have loved to have seen probably 15 shows they've had between last fall and this summer.
