Yes, he is a good free throw shooter and appears to be a pesky defender.
I'm quite calm. I made a rational argument. Are you calm?
If Wigginton leaves after next year as seems likely, we'll be left with THT, Lewis, Nixon and Haliburton as guards. Nixon would be starting in that situation, which would leave your "he's not being asked to be a starter like Beverly had to" irrelevant.
1. When did we learn that Haliburton is redshirting?Do you think he'll be starting as a redshirt freshman over a redshirt senior?

2. Even if those are the only guards left on the ISU squad at that point whoever starts at the point will have to earn it.
3. Haliburton was Gatorade player of the year in Wisconsin in a very strong year for Wisky basketball so it is a safe bet that a player who beats out sophomore Haliburton for the start is indeed a Big 12 caliber player.
I get the "is" versus "will be" but doesn't this still seem a bit contradictory? Way I see it, Prohm was wanting to fill a future void. We won't know for awhile if it'll work out, but team could have used a little more grit and toughness when playing 50/50 ball. He seems to have good defense and was in LE's system. I'm not sure if it'll falter anymore than last years transfers did.I think he is an okay pickup, but I do have a couple of concerns looking at his stats for the last 3 years. First, his assist/turnover ratio is below 1. That is terrible for a 3rd year point guard....and it is not like there has been a lot of improvement since his freshman year. Tinsley had a poor A/TO too, but at least it was above 1. The other concern is his shooting percentages. Hopefully, someone on the staff can help him with his shooting and improve those percentages. I think he will be a good pickup, but honestly, I think if Lindell does leave after this year, Tyrese will be the starting point with Nixon as the `back-up. Of course, Prohm will probably still be looking to recruit another pg for 2019.

How did they politically decide they weren't given Gatorade player of the year to a kid because he was going out of state only to give it to another kid who was going out of state? That makes zero sense.1. Do you think it's worth burning a scholarship year playing a kid a few minutes/night when we already have Babb, Wigginton, THT, Talley and Lewis? If you believe he'd get more than a few minutes with this group in place, you're as bullish as bullish gets about Haliburton's stock. I believe he'll be redshirting.
2. Those undoubtedly will not be the only guards we'll have, but we'd be bringing in presumably a freshman or two as Prohm has said he wants to build with high schoolers primarily.
3. Yes, he was the Gatorade player of the year. That was political because Herro went out of state, much in the way THT didn't end up getting Gatorade in Illinois. 247 has three guys ahead of Tyrese in their Wisconsin ranking. Semantics aside, I'd much rather Haliburton is ready the year after next because he DID show efficiency and intelligence. His stats scream "smart". Prohm's coaching hasn't. My bet would be a redshirt senior starting over a redshirt freshman.
And only scored 8 points a game as a bench player and only played 20 minutes per game because his defense was so poor. The only other guy I really would have wanted would have been Austin Reaves out of Wichita St.
I don’t even know how realstic he was in the first place, I just know we reached out to him and he shot 45% from 3.
This just leads me to believe that THT is running the point that year.I'm quite calm. I made a rational argument. Are you calm?

There are a lot of people in Wisconsin who believe that any other year Tyrese would have been Mr. Wisconsin Basketball hands down but it was just an exceptional class this year.
While he's likely not another Kane, he's likely not another Beverly either. Somewhere in between. If there is a much better player out there in the air out transfer market that you know we would have gotten I'd like to hear it. He'll be solid.I'm quite calm. I made a rational argument. Who exactly are those people and what year do they think he would have been "hands down" Mr. Wisconsin basketball? I've gone back to 2011 and at .9166 composite ranking he wouldn't have been in the running for Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin but for the year we picked up T. Lewis.
I like Halliburton but I see him as making a significant impact in 2020-21 and beyond. Should he redshirt...absolutely but kids refuse to do so based upon the current transfer rules. But I do think he will make an impact in a Cyclone uniform.
