Ok but what if we get drilled in our NY6 game like Iowa did in the Rose Bowl after coming within inches of the CFP?
At this point everyone thinks Alabama will beat the tar out of most everyone save a couple of teams.
And what if we get paired with Cincy or BYU in that NY6 game? A win is cool for only us as fans but program wise doesn’t do anything. Now what if we lost to one of them? Ugh can you imagine that national narrative?
“The Big 12 was not good this year. Iowa State lost to a Sun Belt team and another G5 team yet won or contended for the conference title.”
I would love to see ISU’s defense vs. Alabama.
They’ll move Georgia up for their loss to Alabama.
We could beat any of those teams pretty easily, except for maybe Bama. We’d make it a game but they are an NFL team and are on another level.
Lol, Clemson, Bama, OSU, and ND would kick our arses.
On queue (while reading this) Davonta Smith just scored on a 65 yard TD pass. Not so sure about our DBs covering Alabama's WRs for very long when we rush 3 and Alabama's QB has all day to throw?
But you can’t guarantee that we wouldn’t get smoked in a NY6. I don’t think we would but you just don’t know. The Big 12 could be hot garbage this year and we were just the best of it because there were no non-conference games. The only ones we got were where we got humiliated by the Sun Belt who went 3-0 against the Big 12. Those are the facts.I think this ISU can play with anyone in the country outside of Alabama and Clemson with the way we're playing right now. The loss to Louisiana is garbage because anyone can see the difference between the team now and the team that day.
Bingo!I find it funny that we keep saying that the Louisiana loss is what disqualified us, when it is more likely that the Okie State loss is what did it. The committee has shown year after year that when you lose is just as, or more important than who you lose to. Losing early is much better than losing late.
Remember Notre Dame in the bowl game last year? Look not saying we couldn’t make it interesting for a bit, but we saw the difference in elite talent last year. Remember we beat OU but it’s always a down to the wire game when we do. These teams in the CFP have embarrassed OU aside from Georgia a few years ago.We could beat any of those teams pretty easily, except for maybe Bama. We’d make it a game but they are an NFL team and are on another level.
It was early, and they were schooled by Ole Miss. Doesn't matter why, but it was not the norm, and Alabama is playing at a very high level right now.10 out of 10? Idk man a crappy ole miss team took them to the wire. I don’t think we win but I don’t think they’re this juggernaut that would kick our crap in 10 out of 10 times.
You go on and explain....Crazy Scenario...Does ISU make it to the playoffs here?
If this plays out, I'd be much more worried about the staff leaving if Michigan position is still open.
