We took that route a couple of weeks ago on our way to S. Carolina. Not bad at all, once you get to Paducah Ky. its a nice drive, Nashville is a mess, we have to find a better way of going around the city instead of straight through. The further east you get, the better the drive, Tenn. and N and S Carolina are beautiful states to drive through.

By far the worst drives for us are Iowa to Dallas, Kansas just sucks and N. Oklahoma is not much better, but at least you can fly on the toll road, and Nebraska west to Colorado. Both drives are nothing but prairie, with a town every 50 miles or so.

Ever driven up I 29 through North Dakota?

Big cities in lockdown probably don't give two ***** about any bowl game, if it isn't the hometown team and they can't even attend.
Think it was disingenuous to say there was no local interest, as we saw sports headlines from local papers about both starting QBs being from the area and one game where the final score was like 71 to 64 between their teams in high school.

You need to stop thinking the rest of the country is as excited about ISU football as ISU fans are.

I can't figure out why you are here? Are you just depressed and want to bring everyone down? Do you want to be Cassandra and brag about how smart you are if it all goes in the toilet? Does Chris pay you to be like this to drive traffic?

If you are so convinced you are right about this, and it's the apocalypse for Iowa State, then please just go do something else. Follow Mizzou or the Chiefs or something.

Yeah but that was only because of Oregon.
Right right lol. But then the Texas-Colorado game should've gotten far more viewership then right? Biggest brand in CFP going up against an old Big 12 foe?? Hmm. But wait, what about Florida and OU?? I mean, that surely did better numbers than Oregon playing a team like "Iowa State".

The logic does not really check out.

Nope, only time we take I 29 is when we go to Dallas or the airport in KC. Hit it a St. Jo and take it south, that way you avoid going through KC.

The Kansas Toll Road is not bad until you get West of Topeka, then its nothing but prairie and cows mile after mile. At least the turnpike has a gas/food station every 35 miles or so.
Just a long boring drive, but you can fly on it, we tend to set the cruise around 83 and go like hell.

I get that he is trying to keep things realistic, and on most of his observations, he is correct. But state it once and let the thread drive on...repeating it a million times just pisses people off. After all, we are Cyclone fans, we follow this team no matter what the record. Hope, often times, is all we have. This time though, unlike 2011, we actually have a few more intangibles that could help us out.
