Can somebody please tell Jamie to turn the water heater down in the bathrooms? Comes out damn near a rolling boil.

Who is our long snapper? Is it the same as last year?

I’ve noticed a lot of not great longsnaps on special teams. Low snaps, snaps where the punter has had to grab it from the side, etc. I feel like that’s at least a contributing factor on our struggles. LOTS of low snaps though.

8 of 9 kickoffs Ohio started at their 30 or worse.

7 of 8 FG and XP made.

Punting was bad.

Fielded every punt.

When looked at as a whole our special teams is average to above average thus far.
And we are 'analyzing' the situation.

That's very good. I think.
I m sure they will. In a weird way that's what makes this good because it'll keep the team grounded that the staff has enough to show them that we're not quite arrived yet.

But 3-0 is 3-0 and maybe, just maybe, people will start to notice we haven't fallen off a cliff.
Baylor.

This is a very important game. Baylor and Coach Aranda have gotten quite a bit of attention this year and last, and rightfully so. They are good.

We are still not getting all the TX recruiting (advantage Baylor), have lost some players, but are people underestimating Campbell and the Cyclones a little?

I hope so. And I hope they don't figure it out until it is too late.

I was at the Jack today for the first time since 2012. I think I prefer to watch at home anymore. Not really sure why I feel that way, but may have had to do with having to keep my 2 year old corralled the whole time

Not blaming the punters, but if not for pure dumb luck, we could be sitting on four blocked punts this season. That’s astounding. What percentage of P5 schools take 2, 3, or 4 seasons to reach that total? At this point, I’ll just assume between giving up long returns, having chip shot FGs blocked, getting a punt blocked, whatever, STs are going to cost us 10 pts/game going forward. It’s mind numbing how we can’t improve in a huge part of the game.
THIS. The coaching staff has put NO priority on special teams.
  • There well certainly be more punts blocked.
  • Kicking team knows only to kick in the center of the field, for an easy catch in a wide open field.
  • Expect at least one of our KO receiving fair catches to be dropped inside the 5 yd line for poor field position.
  • Expect that opponents will have favorable starting position 1/4 of time entire season.
  • FG's/Etra point will continue to be dicey.
