We're at a point where fake memes and words that weren't actually said are actually influencing peoples opinion of someone. Maybe we should just be bigger people?

Kind of what I was thinking. People holding a grudge towards a 19-20 year old for deciding to leave a program trying to get some money and acting like people don't ever make poor decisions in their life. It's been drawn out long enough. Let it die.

Maybe, but our guys are going to be defending their asses off against him. They've shut better players down this season already.

I'm thinking TJ will have them focused because it goes personal........UT has more than enough talent everywhere for someone to say Tyrese who.

Lol, "if that's the case," then it makes him living with his decision that much worse. I wonder what the NIL agreements had in them for verbiage that if these guys that aren't getting paid what they are owed, does anything stand up in court? Doesn't affect me, but that would suck not getting paid what you were promised. Seems to be happening pretty regularly too.

If an 18 yr old kid is not a surefire 1st rd pick, I have no problem with any of them getting paid while they can.

It sucks it happened to us, but 99.99% of us (without parents and poor btw) would've done the same thing.

Tyrese will get an earful from Hilton, and plenty will take it too far, but probably not a big deal for him if he was able to get some $$$ for his family.

He should have got it at Tennessee, Gonzaga, or Kansas then, not that trash program with a trash coach.

At least then he could be playing for a national championship.

O hellfire! He will enjoy it and get off on it. Look at his arrogant ass likening himself to Lebron in that interview. The walking ego.

TN has never made a Final Four and has only ever made one Elite 8.
Beard is a scumbag but almost winning a Natty at Texas Tech shows he can coach.

Tyrese probably took the most money, no matter what he says about it. He may care about that more than playing for a Natty too. We're all wired differently and in different circumstances.

Yeah I say if he'd of gone to Tennesse or Gonzaga I would of actaully cheered for the guy. No hard feelings from me. That said, transfter IN conference...and to Texas? He deserves every bit of smoke he's going to receive from Hilton.

Good stories need villains. And if you think sports as mass media are anything other than entertainment, then you need to update your outlook to something more appropriate for the 20s.

You know, the 1920s, back when the radio made Babe Ruth the most famous man in the country.

Tyrese Hunter is the perfect antagonist for us. His story is just dripping with literary quality. Hardscrabble kid that picks a hardscrabble program and helps lead an overmatched team to significant glory... Only to turn completely heel on us. Hunter is the perfect personification of the nonsense Texas has put Iowa State and the rest of the Big 12 through for the past 15 years. Both Hunter and Texas took the money and left us for dead by the side of the highway after declaring themselves too good to associate with us.

The great irony behind this is Texas' arrogance and hubris holds them back from being a fraction in reality how they regard themselves in fantasy. The SEC is going to chew them up and spit them out. They couldn't handle Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas State, and TCU. Good ******* luck with Georgia and Alabama, a suddenly resurgent Tennessee, and other intermittent powers like Auburn, Florida, and LSU.

Tyrese's story is now similar. He left expecting to play for a program ready to dominate the Big 12 and contend for a national title. Now it is a program in limbo, while Iowa State is on the rise. He left TJ, one of the most profoundly decent men in the coaching business, for Beard, a sleazy ******* who committed almost unspeakable acts of abuse against a woman and then didn't even seem to get what he did.

But, you know, at least Texas and Hunter got paid, right?

This is damn near Shakespeare is what this is. Hunter is up there with Iago, Richard III, and Edmund.

People saying "this is just Tyrese changing jobs, no big deal, people leave for better opportunities all the time" need to start watching sports like sports and not like a spreadsheet in their cubicle.

There's a lot to dissect here but I think it should be noted he also could have liked Prohm and wanted to play for him. Say what we want to about Prohm as a coach (he was in way over his head), but he is likeable, and was getting some talent to come to Iowa State.
There are some instances when recruits choose coaches more so than schools.

No. He. Didn't. He said that money wasn't the reason he left. He never said he wasn't receiving any money that I can find anywhere.

If you found that, please link it.
Either way its a lie. Sorry if I misquoted the lie.
