REALLY enjoy Hassle. He is very talented overall (i always loved his humor on WHO)....but i think he is very fair to both sides, critical when it is needed for both sides, and doesn't take himself too seriously. He also knows his stuff beyond Iowa/ISU, which is a very healthy perspective to add to the discussions.

He and Chris (and Van Wink) have a great flow to their discussions/ribbing/etc.

THIS is exactly why I like it. You don't have to be unbias, Make fun of the other team when you can and as much as possible. But be realistic on things.

For example: I'd feel the exact same way about the BDJ play if I was a fan of either school. Ya the situation sucks but it was correct, sad thing to happen to an amazing player on a rule you don't see often. And then add on the emoition. HAHA SUCK IT IOWA from my Clone perspective, or if I was an Iowa fan wow this sucks and is unfortunate.

Yeah, I told that today to someone ...like 5 Gophers missed as he snagged the ball....like horribly bad coverage.

Which is why the called the return back. The MN players saw the fire call and at that point they were playing the ball and not the returner. As soon as Cooper made that motion the ball was never returnable. As soon as he caught the ball MN was thrown off and slow to contain him. This is what hasn’t been discussed at all. It has nothing to do with a “fair catch” which Iowa fans can’t wrap their heads around.

It would just BLOW MY MIND if someone who listened to that show for years didn't think Fales was constantly showing open disdain for ISU fans. To me it was the driving theme of his contribution before I stopped listening.

If you want truth about Iowa's loss from a guy who is honest. Fales gets an F for pretending he isn't a Hawkeye, Miller gets an A. He also just knows more about football.

What do people think of Hassle on 2GNC? I think he gives both schools an awfully fair shake, despite being a Hawkeye fanboy. And I'm asking outside of just hating Hassle for being Hassle. You either love him or hate him, I'm in the former.

Hassle absolutely HATES how the Iowa athletic department has been ran for the last 15 years. He will call a spade and spade and isn’t afraid to acknowledge that Kirk has caught a ton of breaks at Iowa.

My biggest problem with Hassel on 2GNC is that he doesn't seem like he's spending as much of his time on Iowa State stuff. Like his views on Iowa State and ability to hold a conversation on it feel way more surface level (and disinterested) this year as it did last year.

It's like when I talk to the KState fan at work. He knows ISU won/lost and maybe if someone looked good, but not much more detail. And the whole time you can tell he just wants to talk about the thing he knows, KState. Where, on the flip side, CW clearly watches Iowa games too.

It's to the point where I might pull up a random one from last year to see if I'm just not remembering right. Because like you said everything has great flow to it.

Andy and Jaimie Pollard have some friendly banter back and forth on the radio, but they actually get along really well. Andy's wife is an Iowa alum but he is mainly a Drake fan more than anything.

Whoa. I get annoyed by AD getting jabs in at ISU just like everyone else does, but overall I think he has been great for the Murph & Andy show. The show doesn't seem to flow very well when they have other producers come in while he's out. I'm sure they can get someone in there that will build some of the same chemistry with them but this also makes me wonder how long Keith and Andy will continue doing the show. They have said they weren't sure they would continue the show when AD got temporarily laid off a few years ago.

Well, you can count on Murph & Andy being a little less Hawkeye centric from now on! I firmly believe that was most of AD’s doing, booking the Garzas nonstop etc.

I just can't imagine from the years I listened that he'd be understanding of ISU fans throwing stuff at players. I'd expect the exact opposite pretty clearly.

Maybe he's great in real life and the show personality is calculated since he thinks he's catering to an audience or something.

It's the best local sports podcast. slight edge over Williams and Blum. Hassell telling any type of story is just amazing.

Yeah.....kudos to folks that "take the leap" but i'm too logical and worried about bills and all that. And MOST employers get that folks will search will working (and as long as you keep doing your job you are good to go)
