There’s no snow on the field?

The key is not acknowledging why that game went the way it did due to the snow to begin with.

Like when the same folks were chirping about how bad ISU's defense was.

Yeah, because it's really hard to play defense in the snow.

Our defensive efficiency was 74.2 in the Houston game and 86.4 in the TCU game so its really not close like I said.

If you want to get technical, the Oklahoma State game was the best defensive performance of the year based on metrics and not counting the early buy games.

Im not going to argue with you, our defense has been fine, im not going to worry about a couple 10 minute lapses against elite competition.

You can't compare home and away defense. Houston has struggled on the road, as stated, often struggling for offensive consistency (like the rest of college basketball).

one thing i like to do it go back and watch those "big shots" and see the reactions of guys/coaches on the bench.

the coaches are just so non-chalant about it when that Gilbert 3 went in at the end. They all are emotionless when it goes through the net.

you gotta have a different mentality to be a coach. i woulda lost my sh*t seein' that going in. obviously they know they have to continue coaching.

the only coach who shows a little bit of excitement is Pete Link and all he does is clap. Haha

Beyond that 6 they have nothing..I can't believe Kansas has issues with depth. The transfer portal and nil have kinda bitten them. If I could NOW get paid by anyone why would I want to spend my college days in Kansas? Granted you have the tradition and all that, but you're still in Kansas. What did they lose, 7 players to the portal last season? Why would that many players leave??...hmmm
They did sign the #1 player in the portal. Plus they signed a guard that would have really helped them, that could do what their current guards struggle with but he raped a girl and got kicked off. KU's a different team with Morris but he came with baggage, so that risk didn't pay off. All the players that left were not going to start and none of them are doing anything at the schools they went to.

16-4, 5-2, 12-0 at home.
Winning pretty consistently, IMO.

I've been expecting a game with outstanding shooting, because it seemed to be trending that way. Figures that it would happen at home. I certainly don't expect 14-30 from 3 to be the norm. But 4 previous conference wins were accomplished without high percentage from 3 or number of 3s.
I don't expect that to be the norm either, but shooting has so much to do with confidence, and our primary shooters are gaining it game by game.

KU focused their attention and NIL to 3 players in the portal in the off season Dicikinson, Timberlake and A. Morris. All three were top 20 additions and if they all hit would have KU as a legit contender. Issue has been Timberlake move up in competition hasn't translated at least yet and obviously Morris rape allegation leading him to getting kicked off the team to late to pivot. I am also not sure if Self expected Edeh Jr transferring out was expected.
In this era of transfers and reloading year to year there are going to be years when the best plan simply doesn't work out. All that said they are still a top 15 team that did give ISU a very good game. Self still can coach this team to compete for the Big 12 title just will need to be with 6 loses and other team helping them. Most importantly ISU took advantage to do their part to destroy KU.

They wanted Edeh to stay but when they went after Dickinson he left. Morris was a huge bust because he's a rapist and Timberlake has been a big bust also. Actually so has Jackson, they expected him to help right away as a freshman. I thought they played good against ISU, nobody in the country was beating the Cyclones that night and I don't see them losing in Hilton. I think KU's ceiling is top 15, personally I would have them 15-20.

They also signed a lower league shooter (Timberlake) who a lot of Cyclone fans wanted, but he's been a bust. If he was playing like Curtis Jones instead of Pav, they'd have a much better bench
