It looks like the risk area has moved a bit south from last night's forecast. The warm front may not make it quite as far north (by just a bit).

I'm still planning on heading to Avoca, IA after lunch to monitor data/satellite trends and go from there. I'm hoping something fires not too far to the west/northwest and becomes a right mover. Storm coverage shouldn't get out of hand with the cap, which I like. I just hope the cap doesn't hold off initiation too late.

Looks like the front is through the Audobon and Atlantic areas, not quite to Carroll or DSM yet. Clouds just starting to break north of DSM now (noon).

NWS has really cut probabilities for central IA today and tomorrow.

Today could be the day before "the big day". Sunday has been talked about as being the main event severe weather wise. No doubt there will be severe weather tomorrow but it might be in the form of a raging squall line with more linear forcing. Today could yield tornadic supercells just on the cool side of the warm front in N. Iowa. Obviously where the WF lays out is key as that will be where directional shear is maximised. Could be a storm or two fire in SW IA or SE NE but capping will be an issue there.

I agree with the warm front for today. Setting up shop right along the warm front, especially on the edge of where the fog/low clouds hang on the longest would be best bet for tornadoes today. The longer the fog and clouds hold on, maximizing differential heating and low-level vorticity, good recipe to spin something up.

What are all the weather junkies thinking right now? Love reading this stuff but unfortunately don't know enough about weather to add anything constructive.

According to Storm Prediction Center, Tornado watch is likely to be posted in the next hour for most of the NW or Western 1/2 of the state.
Watching and waiting on eastern Nebraska....MO river area...

If the map is correct, it looks like most of the chasers have crossed into Western Iowa

watching a lot of the livestream. Looks like lots of rotation, but none of it has come together yet. At least from what I've seen

I can't get any sound off that site. Anyone have a specific location on where those are? Anyone know how to get sound from it?

That storm is dangerous and has all the moisture to work with and looks like it will follow the warm front and be a right turner and will follow hwy 30 in my opinion
