Well seeing how i reside in ames... yes... and its nice out.
OMG lets get a boner over rain! OMG! how'd thursday (4/07) turn out?

RAIN... its spring.

You realize a town of 1400 people just took a major hit from a large tornado(3/4 mile wide) in Iowa right, I'd say you should grow up, get the hell out of this thread, and generally quit being a tool.

Dude, we get it. The idea of a thread for Thursday's rain was dumb. However, today there are severe storms in the state, and there likely will be more tomorrow. Stop being a **** about it and let it go when severe storms are moving through.

Any pics up of Mapleton? This from Timmer's website-

Reports are still coming in, but an apparently large, destructive tornado has hit the town of Mapleton, Iowa this evening. Several storm chasers were streaming this tornado live, and debris could be seen flying through the air. **** McGowan reports that major structural damage has occurred. Above are radar images taken as the storm moved over town -- velocity was maxing out at 161 kts of shear at the time, so this was very likely a strong to violent tornado. This extremely dangerous storm could still be producing a tornado as it moves east of Mapleton at 25 MPH. A tornado watch remains in effect until 1:00 AM for portions of eastern NE and the northwestern half of Iowa, and residents in these areas should keep their weather radio nearby and monitor the NWS and local media for warnings! - Tomorrow looks like a potential high risk for eastern IA, northern IL and much of Wisconsin!

I was watching one of the live feeds, the tornado was impressively large and the chasers really close, they actually had to back off some.

I was watching some but video was very tight and I couldn't get any sound so I didn't really have any perspective on it

was curious to see if any of our fellow Cyclone fans and Western Iowans were impacted by the tornados the nation-wide weather channel has been discussing. Wasn't aware that instead of destruction and potential death of our fellow "family" members and resident's of the great state of Iowa that a tool discussion is taking place instead.

Did someone get grounded tonight and can't go out with their friends?

I am just hoping this thing loses energy by the time it gets here. I don't know if that will happen or not but I don't need a tornado.

Can Mason City plan on tornado warnings at sometime tonight? I have friends and family in that area.
