I'm a poster of the people. I thought it was pretty busch league to have a thread claiming to have a poll and to actually NOT have a poll listed in said thread.

Still though, the 1st four games are critical in any football season. Can ISU rebound after a tough 2-2 start? Absolutely. But it doesn't get any easier with TCU/OSU coming up on the schedule back to back. (On the road no-less as well.) Don't ***** foot around with SDSU and TOE, those need to be WINS which will set up a HUGE contest with OU.

I agree! That first thread with no poll.. wtf was that?

QB's who don't force it and just take what the defense gives generally do really well against Iowa. Kempt will nickel and dime the Hawks and take a couple shots down the filed when appropriate. Iowa's secondary is young and untested. I don't just like our chance to win, I like our chance to win in convincing fashion.

I do think Kempt is the type of QB that will give Iowa trouble (if only he were more mobile). The key will be finishing drives with touchdowns. I'm confident we will be able to rack up some first downs between the 30s.

Meh, I'd rather be successful in conference play

Lets mot pretend that the Iowa game doesn't hold significant importance. Being the better program plays a significant role regarding in state recruits. CMC has already made Iowa work harder for instate kids but with our new style of play, we need more of these under rated Iowa kids. WAY too many of these kids have ended up playing for Iowa simply out of default.

Im sorry but the Hawkeyes are not world beaters. We need to start beating them consistently to take the next step and I think Campbell is capable of doing that

LincolnWay …….Great minds think a like, I have said the same thing ever since that 12-10 Loss in 1977.....We either start beating them or be Little Brother forever...….

I'll say this, I'm glad that ISU is getting OU early in the year. It just has a good feel to it as opposed to playing them in OCT/NOV when they get humming.

SDSU will be a great opener too. They should be a tough opponent. The first 4 games are pretty tough. I am glad we have a mentally strong QB to start this season too. Confidence should be high on our program/team. They need to take care of business right away against SDSU. Can't stumble out of the gate - this is year 3 for CMC and I expect the team to play very well.

I think it is almost more important to ask how the first seven go.

v. SDSU
@ Iowa
v. Oklahoma
v. Akron
@ TCU
@ OSU
v. WVU

Absolutely brutal.

If we get out of that 4-3, then I am impressed.

Agree.

I’m guessing 3-4 or 4-3. Could just as easily go 5-2. Or 2-5. I’m more optimistic with this staff though

Well, this turned into an Iowa thread really quick.
Understandably. I penciled in wins vs SDS & Akron (maybe a little too confident on my part after reading comments from other posters). But OU I'm counting
But our record vs Oklahoma is 6-74-2; they've won 90% of the series - could be one of the most dominating records in Big 8 /12 history, or even D1 FB (I'm sure a couple posters will correct me here). Our win last year in Norman was something spectacular; they should have us circled on the schedule.
As a Cyclone since 1975, I think I've seen some games where they laid 9, or 10-TDs against us. This is a down year for them (at pre-season #9), so back-to-back might be in our favor!

I went with 2-2, but I can see us going 3-1. In my opinion, it really comes down to the SDSU game. If we play well and handle them, I think 3-1. If it’s a dogfight and close the whole way, I’d go with 2-2.
