We will start 4-0. It will be a great thing, but it will also guarantee that the media's relentless story line for the year will be about Campbell leaving ISU for every possible top dog position.

Iowa has a ton of question marks. We have some grown A men on our defensive line going up against an unproven Hawkeye Oline and unproven running backs. Their passing game and Noah Fant flourish off of play-action pass. Stop the run and win first down you remove the element of play-action and they will have a hard time moving the ball. We are built to beat them this year.

Jack Trice will be absolutely electric for that OU game if we enter that contest 2-0. That's all I'm gonna say about that one. Let the chips fall where they may.

The fact that you, of all people, are predicting a loss at EIU just seems sacrilegious.

Might Twins be a double-agent troll? He trolls on the Hokeye board just so that he can build our trust in order to troll us. Intriguing.

I'll say we start 1-2

Finish 9-3

Of course losing to K State the final game of the regular season

SDSU

OU

Thoughts?
3-1, the loss will either be to Iowa or OU, most likely it'll be OU.

Im sorry but the Hawkeyes are not world beaters. We need to start beating them consistently to take the next step and I think Campbell is capable of doing that

Beating OU AT OU and then a few weeks later pulling off the win over TCU, then being in at least one possession games the rest of the way was the biggest step ISU may have taken maybe ever.

Beating Iowa is a good win but it's not monumental.

Look at my signature. I honestly do not think we beat Iowa this year even though I think we'll be the better team

I just don't think we win in Iowa City. They will be so fired up to play us. They want to put us back in our place in the worst way. I know hawk fans won't ever admit it, but this is a huge game for them. Iowa tends to play very well in Iowa City with later kick off times. Plus, mobile QBs tend to hurt Iowa, we don't have that with Kempt. I hate to say it, but I just don't see how we win that game. OU will be tough too and have revenge on their mind. So it looks like 2-2 after four games.

I said 4-0. SDSU and Akron are comfortable wins.
I understand Iowa is always a tough game, but they are replacing a lot on D and both sides of the line have suspensions. ISU has the same, if not better caliber of talent at most positions, with a coaching staff that will get the most out of these players.
OU did not have a good defense last year for the level of talent they had. Murray is unproven and we don't know how Riley will do with a whole off season on his own. A lot of national talk about how good he is, but he inherited Stoops team with a Heisman QB. I won't be shocked if ISU loses, but this will be a close game, but no reason not to be optimistic.

Beating a non conference opponent consistently isn't what we need to do to take the next step. We need to compete for conference titles to take that next step IMO

Don’t see why it’s one or the other. If we get ourselves to be consistently competing for conference titles, we’ll probably be beating Iowa regularly too.
