I'm just saying, *IF* (before Campbell hire) this was a year ago, I would have been OK with JP "exploring" the opportunity for Briles to Ames

Really? I hope you don't have a sister or daughter that plans on going to Iowa State.

There are alot of things ADs will overlook, but covering up sexual assaults may not be one of them.

I think the fact that he'll have quite a while before hiring season actually begins (november usually) will help him but teams won't be beating down his door. Nothing jumps out at me at the moment but someone will give him a chance.

He will get another coaching job, that is for sure. But when and where could be a bit surprising. He is a great coach, but this will loom over his head for a while.

One thing to remember about this decision is with the Feds recent focus on sexual crimes on college campuses, schools have to take this more seriously. This isn't an NCAA issue which the big schools can ignore. The big schools have to take this seriously. And that's why briles may not be hired at a college for a while.

Yes! Eat it Baylor! Freaking cheaters/cover-up artists.

I'm guessing that a ton of players are going to transfer out.

I totally understand fragging an opponent when you can, but what exactly was Baylor supposed to do? They had no way of knowing this kid was going to rape a student... when he was charged they suspended him from the program... he never once represented Baylor in an NCAA contest... Once convicted he was dismissed from the school... even though a jury in Central Texas gave him probation and not prison...

what happens to BU if they kick him out of school for being charged and then he's acquitted? I'm guessing there would be some civil liability... innocent until proven guilty and all...

Baylor didn't rape anyone or cover up any rapes... those who try to say they did are grinding axes.

Rape culture = Baylor

"Axe to grind" makes me cringe every time I read it. Thinking objectively about a situation does not equal "axe to grind".

The report must be bad, really bad, if they are firing Briles. No college will touch him right away. Bet he goes to the NFL.

Yep, this isn't just a few recruiting violations or something.

I'm sure I missed something or lots of things as I don't follow Baylor much, but from what I'd seen of Briles he seemed like a decent guy. Obviously not the case...I think I saw that there were several reports over the years.

Now if we can get Scott Drew on something, Baylor can go back to being 90's Baylor.

Wonder what HC would be willing to get himself into the mess that is currently Baylor. Gotta imagine they are going to go right back to pre-'10s Baylor since they don't exactly have the winning tradition and funding a school like Penn State has to survive this sort of thing.

Glad to see the university did the appropriate thing, however.

If Baylor BB can survive a murder on the team, BB Football can survive this. They will not be moving the university out of the state of Texas.

I tried seeing what's going on on baylorfans.com but it looks like their site crashed. Normally I feel like they have 16 fans on it but maybe the whole nation is on it too.

I guess it's time for them to break out the tarp and cover the upperdeck.
