Cats climb on stuff, its what they do. They are young I assume and like any young thing will not know all rules or care. just like have a child or getting any pet.. Patience and kindness go a long way. Remember you chose to bring two animals into your house, they didnt pick to come live with you.

My hate for cats is largely bred by my severe allegeries to cats. However, in recent years I've actually been able to embrace cats and have realized just how much my allergies benefit me. For one, I can forever rule out any of my children talking us into getting a cat. Furthermore, my in-laws as well as much of my wife's extended family have several cats at home, giving me a built in excuse to bail on any-of-a-number of family functions.

I've never thought about that.. Do you think I could convince Lady Cynado that I've developed an allergy?

I'm no doctor, but I think it's worth a try. I'm not kidding though, it works like a charm because usually it takes about 20-30 minutes of exposure before the allergies really start acting up. So you go, make an appearance, have a bite to eat then the eyes start watering a bit and you mix in a sneeze or two and you've got your ticket out of there. At that point you then get to go home with a full stomach, you've made a graceful exit that your wife can't possibly complain about and your sitting at home watching sports while the rest of those schmucks pretend to like each other.

Crazy how a thread about cats shows up. I just had my cat of 14 years put down less than a half hour ago.

When we have to do the same to our yellow lab i am going to freak. Had him for 8 years now.

Tough topic right now. We spent a week in Phoenix, got home last Wednesday. A friend took care of our cats, and told me that one of our three cats, a four year old longhair that we affectionately referred to as Fuzznuts, was depressed and hiding, not eating, not socializing. He has always been exceptionally affectionate with her when she's cared for them in the past. Garf died the day before we returned. He was the cat that felt the need to occupy my lap any time I was seated, and especially when I was on the computer. I miss him.

.....I may try this when the in-laws come over to my house. If I time it right, I could be up the street at the bar before they realize what's going on.

My wife has 2 cats. We use this method and it works well. I tried fastening one end down hoping they would hang themselves when they got caught in the tape, but no luck.

This is Pig The Wonder Cat. He's about 14 now, got him just after his eyes were open and his mama met an unfortunate demise. Bottle fed him for what seemed like an eternity. He's blind in one eye. Cantankerous. Big personality. My constant companion. Only the fireplace can be a bigger draw than my lap or beside me in bed. (Fireplace is right beside the Christmas tree, so this is his little Holiday Heat Cave) 02-11-2013, 09:34 PM

On February 26 we had to put the beloved Pig down. To say I cried for days is an understatement. But, in two weeks we pick up two tortie kittens from the vet's office. Whew - high energy kittens are going to be a big change at our house but we're looking forward to the new adventure.
