Turnovers and special teams game. That favors Iowa. Iowa State is unproven to consistently deliver in the margins.

If it's a mistake free game from both teams.. Iowa State wins but 7+
After one game each, both teams are “unproven”.
Iowa has two decades of track record of being the exact same team every year.. Iowa State does not...

Campbell's record in 1-score games is horrific and we ALL want it to change, but I need to see MASSIVE improvement on the offensive line before I am confident heading into a CyHawk game.

Going heavy with TE's plays into Iowa strengths. I would rather go 4-5 wide like Purdue did and make their LB's cover WR's in space. Problem there is our WR room may be the weakest on the roster..

I just need to see it on Saturday to change my mind from 4 wins this season

I thought it was Campbells record in games we were favored by one score was nasty.

If you listened to Jeff Woody, Chris, and Newell, they mentioned this and Collin said its less about our scheme and more about taking care of the ball and making the easy play. We torched them in 2019 but couldn’t put up points. We turned it over 4 times in 2021 which is an automatic loss. None had to do with us running double tight.

One score games as in the game is within 8 points or less? Because if that's the case and I counted correctly, Matt is 16-26 within those parameters.

It's such an interesting stat.

The record isn't good, but actually being with striking distance compared to historical outcomes, it's not thst bad.

Cy Hawk discussion? **** Iowa. End of discussion.

Disagree. I don’t think the discussion of **** Iowa should ever end. It needs to be repeated to all future generations so they shall not forget how important it is to **** Iowa.

At one point in my career, I was selling cars, and one of the cars I sold was to a former ISU professor. For the life of me I cannot remember his name, but when he dies his plan is to donate his body to science and somehow knew he would end up at U of I. Not totally sure how he had it arranged. But in chatting, he told me he had a massive **** Iowa tattooed on his left ass cheek, so when they roll him over on the table, it just stares whomever in the face. **** Iowa forever

I cant tell if that is promising or aggravating. Little of both?
It's 100% both. It's so damn frustrating how close we've come. Honestly, I think the most frustrating thing was 2021. I get that 2017-2019, you were rebuilding and we were doing a damn good job of it. Three straight bowl games, two of which were against top 12 teams that were very good. 2020 you have a historical year and win the Fiesta Bowl and you have an opportunity to prove that it wasn't a blip because you bring everyone back. Then you lay an egg. Then in 2022, the wheels fall off.

What I do love is that Matt didn't get complacent. He made the changes that were needed and now we get to see if those changes net positive results. So far, they have. Our special teams looked night and day better and even if that's the only thing that monumentally changes this year, it'll yield positive results because it'll take the load off of our offense many times. I wish these changes could've been made 3 years ago, but here we are. I'll take them now.

Went back and looked at the tweet I was referencing. I had it wrong.

ISU is 6-19 under Matt Campbell in games with a spread b/t -4 and +4 at kickoff
