Kids these days so quick to call the cops. Back in the day when our neighbors were loud we did the responsible thing and ****ed on their door...

No kidding, our neighbors below us in Freddy would be loud some times. We'd jumped up and down on our floor, eventually knocking their smoke detector off the ceiling. They got ******, we got in it a bit, then ended up being drinking buddies. Kid should have seen it as an opportunity to smoke up with a basketball stud while play PS4.

I just think you view seems too mainline media.... All local media is having a hay day with this, there was not drama leading up to this game, and nothing even news worthy now they dragging this story through the mud at all cost to get every bit of blood out of it that they can.....

Yeah, you definitely have a point there, about the rivalry thing. But in all honesty, the only thing Ive read today was that article that was posted in here about the kid who called the cops. I dont like the Rag, and havnt checked anywhere else. Plus, news breaks on message boards much quicker anyways.

I think a big thing that plays into it too is his past, and how Fred has yet to be burned on taking "at risk" transfers, and this time, it may have gotten him.

It's the absolute only thing going on for the media right now and they are all living off of BDJ incident to increase their Twitter hits. It's sad. Last I checked all charges were dropped..no? And Nader lives with BDJ. Those of u saying he should be suspended(Nader) for 3 games are just plain dumb.

Wrong.

Listening to KXNO....these two goobers are salivating over rationalizing why BDJ should be suspended. Best was saying he was kicked out of UNLV. Umm.....he graduated j/a.

I am not a fan of KXNO, but BDJ was kinda kicked out of UNLV. Yes, he did graduate and had one more year of eligibility left. UNLV told him they did not want him back for his 5th year. Splitting hairs I guess. One could see it either way, he was certainly free to leave and play his last year elsewhere, even if UNLV wanted him back.

You have to remember about 20% of the country wants cops to strangle anyone to death for selling a single cigarette. We have a lot if authoritarian nutjobs among us.

and Hoiberg's news conference has now been pushed back until 4:20...

I'm saying that is a sign that there is no suspension

For those who have not been paying attention: Dropping 1 out of 3 charges does not mean "all charges were dropped."

I don't know what Fred will do but I can't fathom a non-suspension given the previous meeting and BDJ's past. I know that BDJ is not getting the same "benefit" as Georges or Naz might in this situation but although your past may not define you, it certainly provides context. I stand by what I saw on the court in Kansas City and I just think there is a difference between wanting to win (Deandre Kane) and putting yourself above the team. I'm just not sure if Nader or BDJ had earned the benefit of the doubt on this one. Plus as a teammate I would be ****** for having to deal with this type of distraction 36 hours before a crucial game.

Th3 only one that mattered was dropped.

The more serious one was dropped. The noise violations have been going on for months. Fred and the police have tried to do what they can without punishing BDJ. Last night was the breaking point for one of those parties. 4PM is probably going to be the other parties breaking point.

Definitely not trolling. The reason I feel that way is the kid has a history of crap following him. I mean, he broke his teammates jaw at USC, then at UNLV, he walked out on his team and had an indefinite suspension put on him. Its not like this was his first run in. Plus, this was not his first run in with Ames police, and it sounds like it was his 5th or 6th run in. After a while, how many chances does he get?

Is it harsh to kick him off the team? Yeah, but at the same time, as I stated earlier, sending a message wouldnt be a bad idea in this situation, given Freds willingness to take kids with checkered pasts.

Ask yourself a very serious question; would you be posting here if this news had not surfaced today? If yes, I call bull ****. If no, can you understand why people think you are trolling? I don't get on HN everytime I hear a hawk player raped someone or drove a moped intoxicated. Why do you care what happens?

Very good post. Especially agree with the bold part.

If this was a one time or two time occurrence Id agree that he should deal with it. If it was happening every night, which is probably the case if the police felt to have a meeting with neighbors and Fred, then I dont blame the guy at all for doing what he did. You can only deal with so much...

I was surrounded by loud neighbors or roomates all throughout college. Never once did I call the police.

But then again, I liked to have fun and was frequently a source of noise myself.
