This. I ended up turning the channel to watch OSU/KSU, which was a MUCH more entertaining game. SEC ball is boring. Most of their big games end up 10-7 or 9-6 or 10-3. Maybe the WAC-style Big 12 numbers are over the top, but don't we watch football to see people score touchdowns? Isn't that the goal? I'd rather watch LSU vs anyone BUT Bama. That game was so far from living up to the hype that it wasn't in the same neighborhood.

I agree ! ESPN and CBS was touting this as one of the best games ever, I thought it was one of the most boring games ever. Like you I was flipping the channel quite a bit to the OK State game.

We'll never know, because the powers that be likely won't allow it since they aren't in "the club" but if BSU is playing for a national title is anyone seriously betting against them. Most schools won't schedule them but when they do BSU usually wins.

You want to use your hypothetical sec champion as their one quality win, but the truth is georgia is not a great team..they are enjoying the easiest schedule in the SEC..hard to get an easy schedule in that conference but they did. Their only road games are ole miss, tenn, and vanderbilt..and they don't play lsu, bama or arkansas. Their schedule is the only thing separating them from 4-5 teams like vanderbilt. They haven't beat a single ranked team all season.. Georgia isn't any closer to LSU or Bama than Boise is.. Boise's one "quality" win is against a fraud.

But hell, part me wants them in there now and let them get killed so people won't be complaining about it for years. With the talent they're about to lose, this is their best chance. At least the SEC would be taking them out at their best and wouldn't have to hear about how boise got screwed out of the chance

How many quality wins does Alabama have this season?

I've made a lot of posts before regarding an 8-team playoff. Conference champ from six major conferences, and next two highest ranking BCS (or whatever) teams. This would most likely open the door for both of these teams to have a chance, and earn the right to be in the championship game if they had a previous loss. There are solutions that are much, much better than what we have now.

So it would be possible then for an 11-1 Ok state, 11-1 Stanford and 12-0 Boise to all get left out in favor of 3 SEC teams, yeah not sure that would be any better than what we have now.

I would not watch another LSU-Bama game. God! That was one horrible, boring game last night. I would love to see Stanford vs. OSU...Weeden vs. Luck. That would be one hell of a game!

FYI

BSU's SOS is still 24 spots higher than Stanford's, even after they played UNLV yesterday.

It's about which teams are the best, not which are the most entertaining. Like it or not, defense is a part of the game.

I can't think of a Non-ISU sporting event that made me happier than Michigan and Ohio State both getting blown out in their bowls after a majority of the media was howling for a rematch in the national title game.

#1 and #2? More accurately like #5 and #9

Thank goodness the BCS is at least 1/3 rational with the computer component to avoid complete jokes like that happening.

I thought last night's game was fantastic. Seeing two dominating defenses go at it is good football. There was high drama throughout.

But...

There should be no rematch, no matter how many other teams lose. If a team can't win their own conference, they don't deserve a chance at the National Title. It's as simple as that.

agree 100% with you on this. Alabama may be the 2nd best team, but if they don't win their conference, then I don't think they should get a 2nd chance. I'm sure Stanford's SOS will go way up after playing Oregon this week.

I for one would love to see a rematch... i know bama had their shot, but if you have watched college football all year, you could see last night that the talent on the field was on a whole other level. Those are far and away the two best teams in the NCAA

This. I don't get all the whining about how the game was boring. It's just a different style of play, and takes more attention to appreciate if you have a short attention span. Every time Alabama missed a field goal, I thought Saban may have a heart attack because he knew it could probably be the game.

I saw two teams with great defenses and offenses limited by very poor QB play. It's a lot easier to play defense when you don't have to worry about the other team throwing downfield at all. Alabama had their chance, at home, and couldn't even get the ball into the red zone. Time to give someone else, preferably with a competent QB, get their shot at LSU.

It'll be a damn shame if Boise St. makes the championship over Bama...I don't care if BSU runs the table...anybody who watched that game last night should understand that those are the two best teams in the country.

LSU must get by the Hogs first. They have played soime great games recently and the Hogs have the talent to go deep on any D in the country, including LSU. As for Bama, how many National Titles have they left on the table due to mediocre or even sub par QB performance? It amazes me that a program that stacked with talent always seem to struggle from the QB position.

I really don't want to see a re-match. But, I think it's also hard to deny at this point that LSU and Alabama aren't the two best teams in the nation.

After watching the games yesterday I have a hard time seeing Okie St. or Stanford beating either LSU or Bama.

I think the only question is what should the criteria be? Should it be the best two teams, period? Or are there other considerations.

Agreed, I really think Arkansas can give LSU a good game. LSU hasn't played a good passing QB (maybe Geno Smith) yet, and they've played three teams who were playing back up QBs against them. They have an extremely talented secondary but they also take a lot of chances, Tyler Wilson will be by far the best passing QB they've faced and I expect Arkansas to be able to make some big plays against them.

I am sick of the SEC being the end all/be all. The Big 12 is a much better conference this year and get's almost no respect for it.

No! They don't get a shot. They lost the game. I would much rather have Boise play for it than seeing another SEC match up. Just asking the question pisses me off.

The answer to the question is No.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.

The point of the BCS is that the regular season is your "playoff", you can't then turnaround and have them get in from a loser's bracket. Give them the Sugar Bowl appearance and move on.
