I bet TJ's workouts could cause a freshman who may have had it easy in high school to bail. This program demands a lot from its players.

I think anyone coming in would know that up front and I think the staff is super transparent about it.

Heck there's videos on YT of it as a badge of honor.

Tre is done

Is this assertion based on some knowledge that he's moved on from college basketball? That is, even if he could come back somehow, he's not interested and wants to get on with his life somehow?

Or assuming he was out of eligibility (and he was until the new rule) before the NCAA built in an exception to give the guys forced to sit out part of a season from a midyear transfer another year?

There aren't many guys nationally that would apply to, but Tre would probably be one of them.

yes, i know that
just pointing out that Lipsey shouldnt be lumped in with the other sub 150 HS kids ISU has added that end up doing nothing for ISU

by and large, recruiting those kids is a waste with the profile ISU MBB now has - IMO
Depend IMO, if you can get them at low cost you need practice players. I would assume some kids still want a education?

Where did he say anything opposite of that. If you land a stud freshman (the hit rate is low) he will be in the league before 4 years is up.
That just simply is not true. 1st team All-American team this season consisted of FIVE seniors. Shead, RJ Davis, Newton, Knecht, Edey.

There are ton of incredible college players who stick around for 4-5 years simply because their game does not translate to the NBA. In the NIL era they can make more sticking around in college for as long as possible. Look at Hunter Dickinson, Tyler Kolek, Armando Bacot, Ryan Kalkbrenner, etc... Those guys had storied college careers and stuck around because they won't stick in the NBA.

Players bailing before the season. Or do you not remember the 2019 class?
That was 2 players leaving the team literally days before the first game. Other than a freshman quitting the team, I don't follow the similarity.

Which incoming freshman bailed in June before that season and how was it similar?
Bailed before the season, I didn't say in June. Just that they committed to the program and never made it to day 1 of the season before deciding Big 12 basketball wasn't for them, or maybe it was decided for them.

I meant the hit rate for Iowa state freshman being low.

Shead- 3 star ranking 216 nationally
Edey- 3 star ranked 436 nationally
Knecht- no star went to northern Colorado and transferred
Newton- not star no ranking went to East Carolina first and transferred
Davis- 4 star ranked 50th national was one of the lower ranked recruits of UNCs class that year.

So “stud freshman recruits” (your words) did not stay 4 years and become first team all Americans. They were not heralded recruits.

I'll never understand the people saying "I just don't connect to these players who are only here 2 years, unlike the 4 year guys", totally ignoring Tyrese Haliburton being one of the best post-Cyclone ambassador for ISU. Similar to ignoring Tamin, Milan, and D Wat when they say "HS players will never stick around anymore"
