This is a bold statement for a program that has won seven games in three seasons and has an interim OC. Especially considering it's records vs. the remaining opponents including 0fers vs. KSU & OU.

I agree its a bold statement, but I have faith in the talent that we have on the field, the qb, and the person calling the plays. I know we will win.

It's almost like all of the sudden ISU is playing winning football since they stayed within 3 scores of someone decent.

I'll see what happens this week and start to maybe make my way toward the kool-aid barrel.

If history is any indication, this a great set up for Texas to come out swingin' and pile up the points.

Seriously, we actually got worse by losing KCM as well. It's just unbelievable. hate to break it to you, but Todd Sturdy and Joel Lanning aren't making this team better in a significant enough way to change any outcomes. Will it be different? Yep. Will it be a little more exciting? Yep. Is Vegas changing any lines because of the Sturdy/Lanning moves? Nope.

It's funny how people think there aren't 100 coaches out there that can do a little better than 2-10 or 3-9.

Im concerned that there wont be an acceptable replacement and you will annoyingly be posting fire "next coaches name" threads 3 years down the road. If JP can get the guy he wants this year, then ill bet he fires CPR. If he cant, he is not firing for the sake of firing. Anybody that has ever been involved in any kind of business should understand this and I honestly cant see how you guys cant get this through your head. Find replacement first, then fire CPR. I am not a CPR fan by any stretch, I could give a **** less if he is the coach next year or not. I just know that you don't fire a coach before knowing that you feel the replacement gives you a better opportunity to win than the current coach.

I know what youre trying to do. You are one of those people that thinks JP needs to be fired as well. There is no helping you people, you are a moron.

I have more faith in Pollard than you do. I think he is capable of hiring a better coach than Rhoads.

There will be head coach openings every season. Fans, donors and administrators have less patience than ever. Hoping that nobody fires their coach next season shouldn't be a part of the discussion. I'm still bowl or bust. It's not likely, but I'm not going to wallow in negativity when we still have 5 games to play. I'll get excited this week as I have every week because it says Iowa State on our jerseys.

Yeah, the guy who thinks it's not hard to find a coach that can improve on 2-3 win seasons is the moron.

I don't want to find a coach, I want to find the right coach. I don't want to be in a position that we are firing a guy in 3-5 years for going 5-7 every year. And your response will be welllllll its better than 2-10. Obviously, but he will still be fired.

I've missed where that makes you unique.
One certainty: A coach that puts up this 5-19 stretch isn't the right guy. He hasn't improved it this year. Not the right guy.

I agree, the argument is we should make sure we have the right guy before we fire him. its not that hard to comprehend. If we cant, then CPR should be here another year.

That would be ideal, but it may be difficult to attract a coach to a provisional opening.

JP contacts 5 guys he feels would be a good fit, he asks, hey pal, say we have an opening in a month or so, would you be interested possibly? those 5 guys say yes. Boom, fire Cpr.

Jamie contacts 5 guys he feels would be a good fit, he asks, hey bud, say we have an opening in a month or so, would you be interested possibly? those 5 guys say no. Boom, CPR next year.

3 or more wins = Rhoads is back
2 wins = Rhoads is probably gone but there's a chance he stays
0 or 1 wins = Rhoads is gone

I think a 4-8 finish would be the only one with any drama on the Rhoads front. There's just no way he comes back at 3-9 or 2-10... and I can't see him getting fired by going 3-2 down the stretch against Big 12 competition (not even KU) after he canned one of his coordinators. So 5-7 or better saves him.

Going 3-2 down the stretch would be 4 B12 wins. When's the last time that happened? Certainly not under CPR

Vegas doesn't change lines. Money does and yes the line has changed so you, again, don't have a clue what you're talking about.

I don't know why you're so mad when people hope for something good to happen. Then again, you don't seem to be the most logical dude in the world either.

I'm not going sit here and try to stop you from living your dream of having Paul Rhoads as the coach at ISU for eternity. Why do you have that dream? I don't know, but it must be creepy.

WHY do the CPR/Bowl Game/This is a really talented team people have their tails up right now? I just don't get it?

We came off a stretch of playing the 3 best offensive teams in college football and played progressively better against them. Outside of Texas Tech, we had little to no chance of beating those teams. Now we have a 5 game stretch with winnable games. So I think its fine that fans have some excitement about winning for the rest of the season. That's 10x better than the fans who want us to fail just so we can fire Rhoads. That has to be a sad way to live your sports-rooting life...

And actually the Vegas line has come down to 5.5 (opened at 8.5).

It boils down to this, which is something you haven't understood to this point:

If Rhoads is here that means we won some games. That's good. If he gets fired, it means me lost a bunch of games. That's bad.

Also, you ignored the Vegas thing. Money has hammered that line down in ISU's favor.

No different than a yearly performance review at any other job, thats how.

So throw away the results of the first 7 games? The last three years? If coaching is that easy where do I sign up??

I don't mind the excitement, like I said, I'm excited about Lanning, but I feel like people are going to turn on him if things don't match what we say vs. Baylor. I also don't like that people are completely ignoring the importance of KCM...the 113th best defense in the country just lost it's best player.
