In hindsight, Fred would of probably been better off waiting one more year then taking the Timberwolves Job, but no one could of known Flip was going to pass away at that time.
I am not so sure about that.
KAT and Wiggins are not proving the building blocks we thought they probably were a few years ago. KAT is soft, and Wiggins is just mediocre.
You just described college football.
Yeah, but in college football, every team's fans adjust their expectations accordingly to the talent and tradition of their roster. Alabama would cry bloody hell about a 9-3 season, and Iowa State would be ecstatic and try to lock Campbell up for life.
Professional sports are so much more championship or bust because, for the most part, or at least outside of baseball in sports with at least some concept of a salary cap, reverse draft, and free agency, all franchises can work their way to winning one.
Even baseball has more parity now than in the past. The lack of parity is not devastating to enjoying a sport because what you are expecting out of it changes. The EPL is the least competitively balanced league imaginable, yet still immensely popular.
I blame Michael Jordan for this, especially in basketball --
He won six and never lost a Finals, so everybody is judged against that, even if it is absurd. Tom Brady going 5-3 in the Super Bowl is more impressive.
Getting there eight times is better than six. Period, even if two were loses.
