Guys, obviously marijuana is part of this discussion, but please keep the thread on topic. This thread is not about the legalities of marijuana use.

Good luck sir, this is on the south side of the **** slope with the bottom in sight.

Can't they just put a mustache on Godfrey, maybe grow out his hair and change the name on the back of the jersey a little then get his *** back out on the court.

All I am saying is Free Educational opportunity = follow the law.

Not that difficult

Not arguing that, but we were talking about whether or not marijuana should be legal for awhile.

I'm not arguing about Fred's decision to kick him off. He clearly violated a pact that they had, and Fred needs to hold his integrity to that. I think kicking Godfrey off the team was the right call under these circumstances, but I'd argue all night that being opposed to marijuana use simply because it's illegal is foolish.

Just do what they did with michael jackson. We'd have the best white player in the league :twitcy:

My high school football coach told me not to drink pop. So I didn't. I didn't get kicked off of his team. Pretty great stuff.

NO, but they broke the law and should have their ***** thrown off the team.

Free College = follow the law... hard concept for a pothead to follow

This...

Seriously... I have over 50k in student loan debt as I type this.

I smoked weed while in college, right or wrong it doesn't matter at all. What i DO know is that if I was offered free school under the stipulation that I didn't smoke, i wouldn't have smoked. Simple as that.

Jesus Christ, it isn't complicated... a full ride scholarship... what a ******* moron.

How Do You Know it was His 1st Strike?

Really, we've given guys with DUIs and Theft charges 2nd chances, but it's 1st strike you're out for marijuana possession??

I'd be surprised if Fred kicked Godfrey off the team for his first offense. What did Godfrey get suspended for during the season? If Railey is getting 2 strikes for DUI and fighting- I gotta believe Godfrey's latest run in was a 3rd strike.

I was thinking more along the strategy used in the cinematic classic Juwanna Mann, but just keeping him on the mens team.

Could actually put him on the womens team though, I mean Baylor gets away with playing that dude Griner.

So... thinking that marijuana shouldn't be illegal makes you a pot head?

That's really mature.

Godfrey did something he was told not to (or he'd lose his scholarship). He lost his scholarship. No problem with Fred's decision, AT ALL. My problem (and its my only one here) is that the activity he's engaged in is illegal without good reason. He broke the law and has to deal with its consequences. The law however, is morally flawed.

Supposedly this was his third offense. Second offense resulted in the 3 game suspension in February (failed drug test).

Haha give it a rest, its not like i've never done it before. This probably goes for many people on this site but, a law is a law.

Yeah, and Godfrey is suffering the consequences for breaking it, as he should per whatever agreement he and Fred have.

Does a laws existence make it right though? The conversation took on another turn. I got no issue with Godfrey's punishment. I have an issue with weed being illegal.
