I was thinking to myself, what if we made it to Atlanta and the band still does their thing in the Final Four. It would be embarrassing, but pretty funny. The band doesn't give a ****
Let's rename them the Honey Badger Band.

Annoying enough that USA wrote an article about them.
NCAA Tournament 2013: Iowa State Cyclones band will troll you all game long
Why are our fans so awful? I'm tired of these fans who nitpick and have nothing to complain about but the officials and the band. They've got nothing but positive reviews from reporters and TV personalities. It's either the chants or dead silence during free throws. If you don't like it, realize that the band, and Iowa State basketball, is not all about you.
Not saying the chanting is annoying or not but I think the chanting does the opposite of the intention. Since the chants produce a steady pulse (or beat) just like a metronome that helps musicians play rhythms accurately, they help the free throw shooters. As many golfers have learned rhythm in their swing, the band's chanting in rhythm is helping the opposition free a rhythm at the foul line.
Band members seem to get "cheering" and "chanting" mixed upYes, the band's cheering needs to stop. They should sit quietly with their hands folded in their hands in their laps. And all those ISU fans that travel to the tournament games need to shut up as well. And sit down. An NCAA tournament game is no place for loud yelling and clapping. And leave all the cardinal and gold clothes at home. It looks silly when the entire crowd wears unified colors in support of their team. Knowing all those fans are rooting for them puts too much pressure on the players. It's better if it's quiet so they don't think we care whether they win. Less pressure that way. And after big wins instead of rushing the court or screaming and jumping around, ISU fans should give the team an approving nod and head for their cars. That's a much more civilized action.
I wouldn't care if every member of the band donated 10k every year, was the best concert player in history, or or cared more than any Iowa State fan alive. The chants are stupid as hell. Find me somebody under sixty who likes it and I'll show you somebody with no less than 4 cats at home.
