Where they love the governor
Looks like this one could pack a punch on the East Coast. Right now forecasting landfall as a Cat 4 and could slow down and park like Harvey, dumping lots of rain.

Wow...talk about your direct hits. That doens't look like its going to skim up the coast at all.

It is not going to go well.

a number of strongest/record-breaking hurricanes the past couple years.

Selfishly, we had been hoping to do a post-baby trip to Charleston in the next while. I'm guessing it'll be a while before they recover with current projections.

I have a friend who works at UNC-Wilmington and I saw they are dismissing classes today at noon for the rest of the week. He lives a bit inland and said he was going to ride it out at home instead of evacuating. I'm hoping Florence loses some of her punch before landfall and it's not as bad as it seems like it will be.

My husband is leaving for the East Coast/PA for work. We’ll see if he makes it back at the end of the week depending on how much travel is affected. This looks to be a nasty storm.
