Who on god's green earth expected that there was any way ISU would have a great team this year? We were all hoping for a team that didn't stink the place up.

You have to be trolling with the TJ's seat comments.
are you kidding me?

Will it be the same when we’re fighting for our 5th victory at the end of the season?

This board will be interesting if that's the case. Outside of the first couple years of Drew taking over for the Bliss murder team, I will bet you can't find a power conference team struggling to win 5-6 games in a year where it ultimately worked out for that staff at that school. If you win 5 games in a college basketball season at a power conference school, that means that there is probably no reason for hope.

Let's just take a deep breathe here. Hunter, Enaruna, King, Lipsey will all be huge leaps for current talent. We need front court players in the worst way but the Foster situation isn't TJ's fault. Everyone needs to chill the **** out.

I'm not expecting much this season. But last year was so terrible that people seem to be thinking that winning 7-8 games is going to be some feat and reason for excitement. Historically speaking across power conference basketball it is not. History suggests that's a horrible basketball team full of guys that probably shouldn't be on the court.

ISU isn't that. Last night was not pretty, but they have guys that belong on the court in power conference play. Some have done it in the past, and Hunter is going to be a terrific player you can build around.

What I'm saying is it's OK for people to have SOME expectations after last night. This isn't going to be a good team. But it's going to be respectable, compete in most games, and win some against some decent teams.

it was there in games we were close in.
TJ will get the ultimate leash as a coach. That much we know.

Oooh I see now what's happening here.

Nobody knows what's going to happen for ISU basketball over the next two to three years but even the deepest sympathizer can't think that whatever that was the last two seasons should be allowed to continue.

After last night I will stick with my 15-16 wins. The two Big 10 transfers know how to play. Enaruna has practice, played and been coached by a pretty good one at KU. Hunter, Jackson and Grill know how to ball.

I'm sticking to my 10-12 wins prediction.

Where did I say it didn’t? It was the right decision to get rid of Prohm. But TJ is hardly the home run hire some posters make him out to be. I’ll gladly eat crow if he winds up being successful, but until then, I’ll continue to be underwhelmed by his hiring.

I think Enaruna is too much of a project to be productive this year. He needs another offseason, unfortunately.

Hunter will be the best guard on the court in the Oregon St. game. Can ISU keep them off the offensive glass?

So how long do you give TJ to turn it around?

Who was a better fit? Realistically. How long should it take a coach?

My Playhouse
Pros:
Hell of a recruiter
Passionate about Iowa State

Cons:
Anyone should win at UNLV. He didn’t, but in his defense, most don’t for some reason.

The ball actually moved, we looked like a team. It didn’t seem like any individual tried taking over the whole game and end up blowing chunks.

We hustled and gave great effort. Talent may be an issue, but I’m not worried about that being a forever issue with TJ, as shown with next years class and retaining Hunter.

Hustle and effort are cultural issues. Talent is not.
