Actually, if you read the thread comment, it said IF AA gets hurt, or doesn't perform should Tiller play. No one here has given an answer to those questions, only attacked the poster.

This is what LETSGOSTATE wrote:
If AA doesn't perform, I say take off the Red Shirt and let's see Tiller's stuff. Next season is time for Iowa State to move to the next level. If AA is not the man to do it, then it's tiller-time.

Where EXACTLY in his writing did you see him say anything about Arnaud getting hurt...Please explain your response as he never mentioned Arnaud getting hurt, did he?

Rdshirts are great until you need the player on the field. Then put them on the field. This is a team game, not to protect the kid so he is around for five years. Gene needs to win something now, not in five years. AA could not even run against Baylor for fear of injury. If I was nebraska I would figure he will not run this week. Get the picture? This team needs all the options it can get. Bates quitting most likely cost Tiller his redshirt brfore the end of the season. You have to have a backup qb for just in case.

I'm concerned that Chizik and the coaching staff may just end up being the good 'ole boy network. Chizik quickly hired all of his long time friends once he got the job.

I understand needing to have guys around you that you can trust and work well with on a professional and personal level, but I thought that for the money Jamie Pollard put up for the coaching staff salaries that we could get some guys with more proven resumes.

I got that same vibe as well - with the huge budget for staff, Chizik pulled in coaches from SF Austin, Troy St., some who were just let go at UAB, and then QB coach Petersen from Mason's staff let go at Minn. I kinda assumed we would have gotten a full-time asst. or two from Auburn or Texas...

If we not only use Bates, but go to Tiller - all in about a week's span...it may be time to declare lunacy in Ames, IA.

Some of you are truly pathetic. Your emotions remind me of little school girls.

Why stop at Arnaud? Let's pull the redshirt on Schwartz!! Arob has been worse than AA. Let's pull the redshirt on McDonough b/c our run defense is bad. Same for Hamlin. Our safeties can't cover anything. Let's put Land in the game.

Last week Arnaud was a god, this week he is horrible. Life as a QB I guess but let me tell you something, this guy is a player. You guys picked Bates to take his job and he didn't. Now you pick Tiller to take his job, and he won't. Arnaud was a higher rated prospect than both. He has no running game to support him, no RB to pick up a block, and his WR's can't get seperation. Yet it is his fault? Give me a break.

I'll admit that I have only browsed this thread. I cannot bring myself to read this drivel to it's full extent. AA is our guy and that's all there is to it.

Amen brother.
Any wonder he keeps looking for Sumrall? Who else gets open?
Plus, AA will help us get Harrison Barnes.
AA deserves a standing O before the game this week.

I agree with you, But i cant believe you pulled the "he was a higher rated prospect card" Austin Flynn was a 4 star QB, and what was Bret?

And im not being emotional about it, last nights loss was clear cut bad football. Austen didnt do his part, Noone did. Team loss. But i will say that Austen played by far the worst he has, He didnt check down and wasnt in the game, He did hurt his arm during the game, which didnt help. Tiller was told to warm up.

All im saying is that its not out of the question, If Tiller comes in and sparks the offense to a win, i dont think anyone will complain. Yes it wouldnt be good to lose his red shirt, But we want to win now, and we are going to do whatever it takes to do that, with whomever we have that is ready to play.

I hear ya 33. I don't normally go with the "higher rated" card but I think some fans think less of Arnaud b/c he is from Iowa. They think he is this slow statue QB. That was my point. It isn't like he is a hack and Bates and Tiller are all world players.

I also want to point out that I am a huge Tiller fan and think he is going to be great, but he is a freshman. He may be athletic but all the defenses we play the rest of the year are fast. We need somebody to make good reads and get the ball to our receivers if we want to be successful

When the game was 14-0 and we had the ball first and goal - with a great chance to get back in it - did AA commit any of the slew of penalties we had down there?

No.

Was AA good last night? Certainly not. But I didn't think the guy was bad, he just had a sour game.

Unless AA gets hurt or completely falls apart, it would be a serious mistake to pull the shirt off Tiller. One that I would definitely question.

There are always exceptions to the rule. 95% of the time it is not good to play a freshman.

Also Griffin had the benefit of coming into the program the same time Briles was. It's not like he had a Junior QB who had been in the system for a year or two to beat out. He was basically competing against other freshman QB's b/c they were all learning a new system. When that happens go with the athlete. The #4 Dual Threat QB in the country I may add
