Is Petras the worst QB that ISU has ever faced?

Probably but has Iowa ever been this bad at running the ball?

They have to lean on him and that won't work.

I actually feel like KU or someone has had worse.

What's that mean about the Iowa staff's feelings about Padilla? Their comment about if they thought he'd be better he'd be playing (paraphrasing) is a pretty big indictment. Gotta think he'll be surfing the NCAA website looking for the transfer paperwork this evening.

Yep they're loyal and obviously don't trust their backup. You have to try him though. Until the last series their longest play was 11 yards and I think that was on their touchdown run.

I feel kind of bad for the kid, but yeah, he's not good.

Iowa's whole offense is completely inept though. I'm super happy with the win, but that's an average team at best we beat. I'll still take it though.

I feel bad for him, he has to go out there and take a beating on and off the field when really it’s an incredible failure of the Ferentzs. They can’t coach him up, they can’t find a supporting cast for him, and somehow they can’t recruit over him.

On the flip side we replaced an all timer in Purdy with a guy who looks big 12 ready immediately.

People want to hang it all on Petras, and he should own his share of it for sure, but that offense is bad across the board, even their Oline is way below their usual standard.

The atmosphere around the program has to be ****. The defense and special teams are doing more than their share. Wheels could come off easily.

They would have been better off running the wildcat. Remember they picked him over Zach Wilson :D

Do most of their receivers transfer out? Like why would Brody Brecht hang around for that offensive style

I think these guys know what they're signing up for. Unfortunately Iowa's style leads to wins.

Actually a
I don't recall ever seeing a QB that couldn't at least complete an easy out route. We've seen times where statistically QB's have been that bad, but often that's because he doesn't have players around him to get open. The Iowa receivers' had space. Petras just couldn't get the ball to them.

Is it just the yips or has he always been that bad?
After today he is my favorite!

Isn't it just mean of Iowa to keep throwing him out there? When Brock had a bad stretch against Iowa last year, Campbell gave him a break. This kid needs a break.

It’s cruel that BF and KF keep making that kid trot out there. Good Lord, he needs a respite benching. Let him live the remainder of his adult life without PTSD.

I know. It just seems really mean.
